2015 Women's World Floorball Championships
The 2015 Women's World Floorball Championships is the tenth World Championships in women's floorball. The tournament took place in Tampere in Finland Finland ( fi, Suomi ; sv, Finland ), officially the Republic of Finland (; ), is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. It shares land borders with Sweden to the northwest, Norway to the north, and Russia to the east, with the Gulf of B ... in December 2015. Sixteen teams participated. Sweden won the tournament defeating Finland, 5-4, in the final game following a penalty shootout. Qualification All teams, apart from the host country (Finland), will have to qualify for the Final Round via the qualifications, and there will be a total of 5 qualification groups - one in the Americas, one in Asia-Oceania and three in Europe. Penalty Shoot Out
The penalty shootout is a method of determining a winner in sports matches that would have otherwise been drawn or tied. The rules for penalty shootouts vary between sports and even different competitions; however, the usual form is similar to penalty shots in that a single player takes one shot on goal from a specified spot, the only defender being the goalkeeper. If the result is still tied, the shootout usually continues on a "goal-for-goal" basis, with the teams taking shots alternately, and the one that scores a goal unmatched by the other team is declared the winner. Tampere Arena
Nokia Arena (originally Tampere Deck Arena, fi, Tampereen Kannen areena) is an indoor arena in Tampere, Finland. It hosts ice hockey games, including the 2022 Men's World Championship, and large cultural events. It is also the home arena of Ilves and Tappara of the SM-liiga. Its construction was approved by the City Council of Tampere on May 19, 2010. The arena was officially opened on December 3, 2021. The NHL teams Columbus Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche played two games at Nokia Arena in the 2022 NHL Global Series on 4–5 November 2022.
