2015 UEC European Track Championships (under-23
The 2015 UEC European Track Championships was the sixth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Velodrome Suisse in Grenchen, Switzerland, between 14 and 18 October. The Event was organised by the European Cycling Union. All European champions are awarded the UEC European Champion jersey which may be worn by the champion throughout the year when competing in the same event at other competitions. The 10 Olympic events (sprint, team sprint, team pursuit, keirin and omnium for men and women), as well as 11 other events are on the program for these European Championships. For the first time, the elimination races, known within track cycling as Devils (from the saying ''Devil take the hindmost'') were contested in their own right. Grenchen
Grenchen () is a Municipalities of Switzerland, municipality in the district of Lebern (district), Lebern in the Cantons of Switzerland, canton of Solothurn (canton), Solothurn in Switzerland. Andy Tennant (cyclist)
Andrew David Tennant (born 9 March 1987) is an English former professional track and road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2009 and 2021 for six different teams. During his career, Tennant won seven medals at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, six gold medals at the UEC European Track Championships and a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Biography Born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK, Tennant began to make his mark on the cycling world as a junior rider. In 2005 he was selected for British Cycling's Olympic Development Programme and lived in Tuscany, Italy with the GB squad in 2006. Tennant represented England in the points race at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and represented Great Britain in the Under-23 road race at the 2006 UCI Road World Championships in Salzburg, Austria. Owain Doull
Owain Daniel Doull (born 2 May 1993) is a Welsh people, Welsh road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Doull specialises in the team pursuit on the track, and won a gold medal in the discipline at the Cycling at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's team pursuit, 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro; as a result, he became the first Welsh language, Welsh-speaking athlete to win Olympic gold. Jonathan Mark Dibben (born 12 February 1994) is a British former racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2015 and 2020, for the , , and teams. His older brother Peter Dibben is a British cycling champion on the track. He rode at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. At the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships he won a gold medal in the points race and a silver medal in the team pursuit event. In October 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Giro d'Italia. After his contract with was not renewed, Dibben retired from professional cycling at the end of the 2020 season, and became a coach. UEC European Track Championships – Men's Team Pursuit
The Men's team pursuit at the European Track Championships was first competed in 2010 in Poland. It has formed a part of each championship since. Great Britain, the double Olympic champions, dominated the event in its early years, winning all of the first five occasions they entered. A record sixth title was confirmed in 2024, Andy Tennant was ever present in each success of the British team before 2024, and as a result is the most successful individual rider in the event, with five gold medals.Thomas Denis of France is the most successful non-British rider, with three gold medals. Maximilian Levy
Maximilian Levy (born 26 June 1987) is a German former track cyclist. Levy won a bronze medal in the men's team sprint representing Germany at the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing, China. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won another bronze in the men's team sprint, and a silver in the men's keirin. He was the world champion in keirin 2009 and in the team sprint 2010, 2011, and 2013. Levy retired from competition after the conclusion of the 2021 UCI Track Champions League in December of that year. Robert Förstemann
Robert Förstemann (born 5 March 1986) is a German track cyclist specialising in the sprint disciplines and world champion in team sprint in 2010. In his later career he has transitioned to Paralympic track cycling, representing Germany as a sighted 'pilot' in tandem events at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. In 2023, Förstemann piloted Thomas Ulbricht to a silver medal in the tandem B sprint and a bronze medal in the tandem B kilo at the 2023 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Glasgow.
