2015 Tour De Pologne
The 2015 Tour de Pologne was the 72nd edition of the Tour de Pologne stage race. It took place from 2 to 8 August and was the twentieth race of the 2015 UCI World Tour. It was won by the Spanish cyclist Jon Izagirre. Schedule Participating teams As the Tour de Pologne is a UCI World Tour event, all seventeen UCI Pro Teams were invited automatically and obliged to enter a team into the race. Two wildcard teams were also given places: and a Polish national team. 2015 UCI World Tour
The 2015 UCI World Tour was the seventh edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The series started with the opening stage of the 2015 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 20 January, and concluded with 2015 Il Lombardia, Il Lombardia on 4 October. For the second successive year, Spain's Alejandro Valverde won the World Tour individual points title, amassing 675 points over the course of the season. The rider finished 201 points clear of his closest rival and compatriot Joaquim Rodríguez of , while Colombian rider Nairo Quintana was third – also for the – 17 points behind Rodríguez and 218 points in arrears of Valverde. Zawiercie
Zawiercie () () is a town in southern Poland located in the Silesian Voivodeship with 49,334 inhabitants (2019). It is situated in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland near the source of the Warta River. The town lies near the historical region of Silesia, but belongs to Lesser Poland. Zawiercie is an industrial town with a rich history of iron manufacturing dating back to the 15th century, with other industries developed since the 19th century. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream. Bukowina Tatrzańska , () is a village in Tatra County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland, close to the border with Slovakia.
