2015 British Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2015 British motorcycle Grand Prix was the twelfth round of the 2015 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone on 30 August 2015. The MotoGP and Moto3 races were held in wet conditions, while the Moto2 race was in dry conditions with cloudy weather. In the premier class, Marc Márquez took his sixth pole position of the season and recorded the fastest lap by a motorcycle since Silverstone was renovated, with a 2:00.234 lap time. In the race, he battled with Valentino Rossi for first place, but he crashed out of the race with 8 laps remaining. Rossi led home an all-Italian podium for his fourth victory of the season, and his first at Silverstone. Danilo Petrucci finished in second place and recorded his first MotoGP podium, while Andrea Dovizioso finished in third place. Jorge Navarro Sanchez (born 3 February 1996) is a Spanish motorcycle racer currently competing in the Supersport World Championship, for Ducati's Orelac Racing Verdnatura team. Stefan Bradl (born 29 November 1989) is a German professional motorcycle racer, best known for winning the Moto2 World Championship in . He then moved to MotoGP in 2012 with LCR Honda. While in MotoGP, Bradl is best known for his performance at Laguna Seca getting the pole position and finishing second in the race behind Marc Marquez, ahead of Valentino Rossi. Cal Crutchlow (born 29 October 1985) is an English professional motorcycle racer who retired from regular competition after the 2020 season. He is contracted as a test rider for Yamaha Motor Racing, which he is expected to continue in 2022 and 2023. Silverstone is a village and civil parish in the West Northamptonshire unitary authority area of Northamptonshire, England. 2015 Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing Season
The 2015 FIM MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 67th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. The championship was won by Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo, racing for Movistar Yamaha MotoGP. It was his third and final world title in the MotoGP category, his fifth overall in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. The season had 18 races, beginning in Qatar and finishing in Valencia, which determined who would be world champion between Movistar Yamaha teammates Lorenzo and runner-up Valentino Rossi. It was first time since 2013 that the world title was decided on the final race of the season.
