2015–16 Snooker Season
The 2015–16 snooker season was a series of snooker tournaments played between 7 May 2015 and 2 May 2016. The World Grand Prix became a ranking event featuring the top 32 players on a one-year money list, having been a non-ranking event the previous season. New professional players Countries: * * * * * * * * * * * The top 64 players from the prize money rankings after the 2015 World Championship, and the 30 players earning a two-year card the previous year automatically qualified for the season. The top eight players from the European Tour Order of Merit and top four players from the Asian Tour Order of Merit, who had not already qualified for the Main Tour, also qualified. Another two players came from the EBSA Qualifying Tour Play-Offs, and a further eight places were available through the 2015 Q School. The IBSF World Under-21 Snooker Championship (also known as the World Amateur Under-21 Snooker Championship) is the premier non-professional junior snooker tournament in the world. Vinnie Calabrese
Vincent "Vinnie" Calabrese (born 7 October 1987) is an Australian former professional snooker player from Campbelltown, New South Wales. He was based in Cambridge together with his compatriot Neil Robertson, although he has since moved back to Australia. Early career Calabrese started playing snooker aged 7 and soon came to success, winning a number of local tournaments. At the age of just 16 he had already claimed the Australian Snooker Championship. Since 2006 he has been spending a lot of time in England, playing in the PIOS tournaments and practising with Neil Robertson. Hatem Yassen ( ''Ḥātam Yāsīn''; born 21 August 1986) is an Egyptian professional snooker player. Yassen turned professional in 2015 winning the African Championship. ABSF African Snooker Championships
The ABSC All Africa Snooker Championship is an annual snooker competition and is the highest ranking amateur event in Africa. The event series is sanctioned by the African Billiards & Snooker Confederation. Established back in 1993 as the ABSF African Snooker Championship, the winner of the event often becomes the African nomination for the World Snooker Tour. Throughout the tournament’s early history the championship was dominated by South African people, South African players, however at the turn of the millennium Egyptians, Egyptian players became the dominant force in the championship, winning 11 of 15 championships since the year 2000. The championship is currently held by Mahmoud El Hareedy who defeated Yassine Bellamine 6–1 in the 2025 final. Itaro Santos
Itaro Santos (born 28 July 1985) is a German-born Brazilian snooker player. Itaro is based at the Legends Snooker Academy in Leytonstone, England, United Kingdom. Career Since 2004, Santos has also competed for Germany, as his native Brazil was not then a member of the IBSF. He is a two-time German Amateur Championship and together with Lasse Münstermann and Sascha Lippe competed as part of Team Germany at the European Team Snooker Championship of 2007. Through a wildcard Santos has also competed in the finals of the World Series of Snooker 2008/09. However he only managed to finish third in his group and failed to qualify for the next round. Darryl Hill (born 30 April 1996 in Leeds, Yorkshire) is an English-born Manx former professional snooker player. Career In 2014, Hill entered the EBSA European Under-21 Snooker Championships as the number one ranked entrant, but lost in the third round to Ashley Carty.
