2014–15 Western Michigan Broncos Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 Western Michigan Broncos men's basketball team represented Western Michigan University (WMU) during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Broncos, led by 12th year head coach Steve Hawkins, played their home games at University Arena as members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). They finished the season 20–14, 10–8 in MAC play to finish in third place in the West Division. They advanced to the second round of the MAC tournament where they lost to Akron. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to Cleveland State. Steve Hawkins
Stephen Greg Hawkins (born August 3, 1962) is an American college basketball coach. He is currently an assistant men's basketball coach for Southern Illinois University Carbondale, a position he has held since 2024. He had previously served as the head coach at Western Michigan University and Quincy University. Coaching career Early career Hawkins was born in Ventura, California. Following his graduation from high school, Hawkins spent time as a high school basketball coach in the Los Angeles area at Villanova Preparatory School and St. Bonaventure High School during the early 1980s. During this time he worked as an assistant at UCLA basketball camps, serving as chauffeur for legendary Bruins coach John Wooden. While the two were stuck in traffic, they were able to talk basketball. The Jenny Craig Pavilion (JCP) is an indoor arena in San Diego, California, located on the campus of the University of San Diego (USD). Opened in 2000, it is the home of the San Diego Toreros men's basketball, women's basketball, and women's volleyball teams. The 2014–15 Drake Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Drake University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by second year head coach Ray Giacoletti, played their home games at the Knapp Center and were members of the Missouri Valley Conference. They finished the season 9–22, 6–12 in MVC play to finish in seventh place. They lost in the first round of the Missouri Valley tournament to Bradley. WMYD (channel 20) is an independent television station in Detroit, Michigan, United States. It is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company alongside ABC affiliate WXYZ-TV (channel 7). OU Credit Union O'rena, nicknamed "The Blacktop", is a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Auburn Hills, Michigan with a Rochester mailing address. It is home to the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball teams. The court has a distinctive "blacktop" color first used in the 2015–16 season.
