2014–15 UMKC Kangaroos Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 UMKC Kangaroos men's basketball team represented the University of Missouri–Kansas City during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Kangaroos, led by second year head coach Kareem Richardson, played their home games off-campus at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They finished the season 14–19, 8–6 in WAC play to finish in a tie for second place. They were victorious over the University of Texas–Pan American in the WAC tournament quarterfinal but were defeated by the University of Seattle in the semifinal. Previous Season The Kangaroos finished the 2013–14 season with a record of 10–20 overall, 7–9 in the WAC to finish in a tie for fifth place. Western Athletic Conference
The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the Western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, Texas, Utah and Washington (state), Washington. Due to most of the conference's College football, football-playing members leaving the WAC for other affiliations, the conference discontinued football as a sponsored sport after the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season, 2012–13 season, left the NCAA's NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly known as Division I-A) and became one of the NCAA's eleven Division I non-football conferences. The WAC thus became the first Division I conference to drop football since the Big West in 2000. The WAC then added men's soccer.
