2014–15 Minnesota Golden Gophers Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2014-15 college basketball season. Led by second year head coach Richard Pitino the Golden Gophers, members of the Big Ten Conference, played their home games at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Previous season The Golden Gophers finished the season 25–13, 8–10 in Big Ten play to finish in seventh place. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament where they lost to Wisconsin. They were invited to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated High Point, Saint Mary's, Southern Miss, Florida State and SMU to be the 2014 NIT Champions. Richard Pitino
Richard William Pitino (born September 16, 1982) is an American college basketball coach who is the head men's basketball coach at Xavier University. He was previously head coach at Minnesota from 2013 to 2021, and New Mexico from 2021 to 2025. Early life and career Pitino is the son of St. John's University men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino. After attending St. Sebastian's School in Needham, Massachusetts, Richard Pitino earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history at Providence College in 2005. During his time at Providence, Pitino was the manager for the Friars men's basketball team under Tim Welsh. For two years, he also served as an assistant basketball coach for St. Andrew's School in nearby Barrington, Rhode Island. Bothell () is a city in King and Snohomish counties in the U.S. state of Washington. Canarias Basketball Academy is a basketball institute based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Its senior team currently plays in the Spanish Basketball Federation with their U18 and U16 teams. The junior team usually participates in the Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Tournament. It also takes part in different tournaments in the USA such as the MaxPreps Tournament, the Hoop Group Under Armour and the Adidas Nations.
