2014–15 Manchester United F.C. Season
The 2014–15 season was Manchester United's 23rd season in the Premier League, and their 40th consecutive season in the top-flight of English football. United began the season on 16 August 2014, with the opening game of their Premier League campaign. They also competed in two domestic cups — the FA Cup and the League Cup. This was the first season since 1989–90 that Manchester United did not compete in any European competition having finished seventh in the last Premier League season; the club had participated in the UEFA Champions League since the 1995–96 campaign and European competitions since 1990–91. Ander Herrera Agüera (; born 14 August 1989) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Argentine Primera División club Boca Juniors. Patrice Latyr Evra (; born 15 May 1981) is a French former professional footballer. Originally a forward, he primarily played as a left-back. Franciscus Petrus Theodorus "Frans" Hoek (; born 17 October 1956) is a Dutch football coach and former player. As a player, he was a goalkeeper for Volendam for more than a decade, before going into coaching as an assistant to Louis van Gaal at club sides Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, as well as the Netherlands national team.
