2014–15 ACF Fiorentina Season
The 2014–15 season was the 88th season in ACF Fiorentina's history and their 77th season in Serie A. The club competed in Serie A, finishing fourth, and reached the semi-finals in both the Coppa Italia and UEFA Europa League; in the latter competition they were eliminated 5–0 on aggregate by eventual champions Sevilla. The season was coach Vincenzo Montella's third and final season with the club – as well as third consecutive fourth-placed finish – as he would be sacked and replaced by former Juventus player Paulo Sousa in the 2015–16 pre-season. Slovenian player Josip Iličić finished as top scorer in the league with eight goals, while Iličić and German international and former Bayern Munich player Mario Gómez together finished as top scorers in all competitions, with ten goals each. ACF Fiorentina, commonly referred to as Fiorentina (), is an Italian professional football club based in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The original team was founded by a merger in August 1926, while the actual club was refounded in August 2002 following bankruptcy. Fiorentina have played at the top level of Italian football for the majority of their existence; only four clubs have played in more Serie A seasons. Fiorentina has won two Italian Championships, in 1955–56 and again in 1968–69, as well as six Coppa Italia trophies and one Supercoppa Italiana. Paulo Sousa
Paulo Manuel Carvalho de Sousa, CavIH (; born 30 August 1970) is a Portuguese football manager and former professional player who played as a defensive midfielder. Starting his career at Benfica, he also represented Sporting CP in his country, where he amassed Primeira Liga totals of 117 matches and three goals in five years. From there onwards, he competed mainly in Italy and in Germany, winning the Champions League with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund and the Intercontinental Cup with the latter side. His later career was severely hampered by injuries. Sousa was a member of Portugal's " Golden Generation", and appeared with the national team at the 2002 World Cup and two European Championships. Gonzalo Javier Rodríguez Prado (; born 10 April 1984), also known as simply Gonzalo, is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a centre back. Antonio Rosati (born 26 June 1983) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Career Lecce Rosati's career began at Cisco Calcio Roma. He moved to Lecce in the 2002–03 season, making his first team debut in February 2005 in Lecce's 3–0 defeat of Chievo in Serie A. During the 2005–06 season he was sent out on loan to Sambenedettese, with which he played the 8 remaining games of Serie C1, before returning to Lecce later in the season. The original ''FC Steaua București'' team was part of the namesake CSA Steaua București sports club and belonged to the Ministry of National Defence. Anton Ciprian Tătărușanu (; born 9 February 1986) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club AC Milan. He started his senior career in Romania with Juventus București, going on to represent Gloria Bistrița and FC Steaua București in the country.
