2014 Women's Junior NORCECA Volleyball Championship
The 2014 Girls' Youth NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the nine edition of the bi-annual women's volleyball tournament, played by nine countries from July 8–13, 2014 in Guatemala, Guatemala. USA and Cuba qualified to the 2015 Women's Junior World Championship. Rhamat Alhassan
Rhamat Alhassan (born September 7, 1996) is a volleyball player who played collegiately for Florida. Early life Alhassan grew up in Glenarden, Maryland. She started playing basketball in seventh grade, and did not play volleyball until her sophomore year in high school, at The Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, Maryland. College Many schools were interested in her as an athlete, but most were interested in her basketball skills, which were more advanced than her volleyball skills. Her former basketball coach, Eddie Simpson, says she "is a better basketball player than she is a volleyball player", and Alhassan agrees. Florida was one of many schools interested in her as a volleyball player. While in high school, Alhassan considered the possibility of playing both sports in college, but ended up concentrating on volleyball. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. 2015 FIVB Women's Junior World Championship
The 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship was the eighteenth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship, which was hosted by Puerto Rico from 11 to 19 September 2015 in the cities of Caguas, Gurabo, Juncos and Maunabo. Dominican Republic defeated Brazil 3-2 in the final to claim their first title. This marked the first world title for Dominican Republic at any age group. Final Round
A single-elimination, knockout, or sudden death tournament is a type of elimination tournament where the loser of each match-up is immediately eliminated from the tournament. Jordyn Ashley Poulter (born July 31, 1997) is an American volleyball player for the United States women's national volleyball team. Poulter played collegiate volleyball with the University of Illinois Fighting Illini from 2015 to 2018. Poulter won gold with the national team at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Early life Poulter was born in Naperville, Illinois and grew up in Aurora, Colorado, attending Eaglecrest High School.
