2014 FIFA World Cup Qualification – CAF Second Round
This page provides the summaries of the CAF second round matches for 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification. Format The second round saw the top 28 ranked CAF teams joined by the 12 winners from the first round. These teams were drawn into ten groups of four teams, at the World Cup Preliminary Draw at the Marina da Glória in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 30 July 2011. The matches were played from 1 June 2012 to 10 September 2013. The winners of each group advanced to the third round. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is the administrative and controlling body for association football, beach soccer, and futsal in Africa. The Malagasy Football Federation () is the governing body of Football (soccer), football in Madagascar. It was founded in 1961, affiliated to FIFA in 1964 and to Confederation of African Football, CAF in 1963. Rustenburg
Rustenburg (; , Afrikaans and Dutch language, Dutch: ''City of Rest'') is a town at the foot of the Magaliesberg mountain range. Royal Bafokeng Stadium
The Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace is a football, rugby and athletics stadium in Phokeng near Rustenburg, South Africa. It was built and is managed by the Royal Bafokeng Nation. It was used as the home stadium for Premier Soccer League club Platinum Stars. The Leopards rugby team host large attendance matches during the Currie Cup at the stadium, instead of their usual home ground, Olën Park. The capacity of the stadium was increased from 38,000 to 42,000 to be able to host five first-round matches and one second-round match at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. For the 2010 tournament, the main west stand was upgraded and enlarged and given a new cantilever roof. Salah El Din Ahmed Said (; born 29 October 1988), also known as Salhadin Said or Saladin Said, is an Ethiopian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Katlego Mphela
Katlego Abel Mphela (born 29 November 1984) is a South African retired professional footballer who played as a forward. Club career Mphela, a product of Jomo Cosmos, played in France for RC Strasbourg Alsace and Stade de Reims, both with limited success. After returning home he turned out for SuperSport United for the 2007–08 season before joining Mamelodi Sundowns the following season. He then finished the 2009–10 season with 17 goals in 30 games which made him the league's top goalscorer. He won the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot and was voted PSL Players' Player of the Season. Mphela joined Chiefs in 2014. He made his debut in a 2–2 draw against Maritzburg United.
