2014 FIA World Endurance Championship Season
The 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship season was the third season of the FIA World Endurance Championship auto racing series, co-organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series was open to Le Mans Prototypes and grand tourer-style racing cars from four ACO categories. World Championship titles were awarded for Le Mans Prototypes drivers and for LMP1 manufacturers, and several World Endurance Cups and Endurance Trophies were also awarded. The eight race series began in April at the Silverstone Circuit and concluded in November at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace. The World Endurance Championship for Drivers was won by Toyota Motorsport GmbH, Toyota Racing pairing Anthony Davidson and Sébastien Buemi, as they won four of the season's eight races. Marc Lieb (born 4 July 1980) is a former German Porsche factory motor racing driver. He won the FIA GT Championship in 2003 and 2005, and the European Le Mans Series in 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2010. He won the 24 Hours Nürburgring four times, and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016, the 2008 12 Hours of Sebring, the 2003 Spa 24 Hours and the 2007 Petit Le Mans. Neel Jani (born 8 December 1983) is a Swiss people, Swiss professional racing driver. Romain Dumas (born 14 December 1977) is a French racing driver and driver for Glickenhaus in the World Endurance Championship. He first started out in karting and single-seater before becoming an expert driver in endurance racing, GT and sport-prototype. The 2014 6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas was a six-hour endurance sports car racing event held for Le Mans Prototype and Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance cars at the Circuit of the Americas near Austin, Texas on 20 September 2014. Benoît Jean-Marie Tréluyer (; born 7 December 1976) is a French professional racing driver. Early career Beginning his motorsport career in motocross and karting, Alençon-born Tréluyer switched to single-seaters in Formula Renault Campus for 1995. He was a race winner in the French Formula Renault championship in 1996, finishing sixth overall in 1997 before moving up to domestic F3 for 1998.
