2014–15 North Carolina Tar Heels Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team's head coach was Roy Williams, who was in his 12th season as UNC's head men's basketball coach. They played their home games at the Dean Smith Center as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They finished the season 26–12, 11–7 in ACC play to finish in fifth place. They advanced to the championship game of the ACC tournament where they lost to Notre Dame. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Harvard in the second round and Arkansas in the third round before losing in the Sweet Sixteen to eventual runner-up Wisconsin. Roy Williams (coach)
Roy Allen Williams (born August 1, 1950) is an American retired college basketball coach who served as the men's head coach for the North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball, North Carolina Tar Heels for 18 seasons and the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball, Kansas Jayhawks for 15 seasons. He was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007. Williams started his college coaching career at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina as an assistant coach for Dean Smith in 1978. Four years later, North Carolina won the national championship. Leslie Vernard McDonald Jr. (born February 4, 1991) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Erie BayHawks of the NBA Development League. He played collegiately for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Lake Highland Preparatory School is a private, coeducational school in Orlando, Florida. It is the largest private school in Orlando and the fourth-largest private school in the state. It serves grades pre-K through 12, separated into lower (grades pre-K to 6), middle (grades 7–8), and upper schools (grades 9–12). Justin Aaron Jackson (born March 28, 1995) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Texas Legends of the NBA G League. Jackson took part in the 2014 McDonald's All-American Boys Game and was named its co-MVP, along with Jahlil Okafor. He played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels from 2015 to 2017. Joel DeWayne Berry II (born April 1, 1995) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels and led the team to the 2017 national championship.
