2013–14 Winnipeg Jets Season
The 2013–14 Winnipeg Jets season was the 15th season for the National Hockey League franchise and the third in Winnipeg. The franchise played in Atlanta since the 1999–2000 NHL season, and relocated to Winnipeg following the conclusion of the 2010–11 NHL season. Regular season The Jets relieved Head Coach Claude Noel of coaching duties on January 12, 2014, and replaced him with Paul Maurice. At the time of the coaching change, the Jets were out of the playoff picture holding a 19–23–5 record. The Jets won their first four games and went 8–2–0 in their first ten games with Maurice, climbing back into the Western Conference playoff hunt. Western Conference (NHL)
The Western Conference () is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. History Originally named the Clarence Campbell Conference (or Campbell Conference for short), it was created in 1974–75 NHL season, 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The conferences and divisions were re-aligned in 1981–82 NHL season, 1981 to better reflect the geographical locations of the teams, but the existing names were retained with the Campbell Conference becoming the conference for the NHL's westernmost teams. SaskTel Centre (formerly Credit Union Centre, and originally Saskatchewan Place; informally also known as ''Sask Place'') is an arena located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Belleville, Ontario
Belleville is a city in Ontario, Canada, situated on the eastern end of Lake Ontario, located at the mouth of the Moira River and on the Bay of Quinte. CAA Arena is a 4,365-seat multi-purpose arena in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. It is the home of the Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL). Built in 1978, it was first known as the Quinte Sports Centre and eventually Yardmen Arena. It is part of a larger recreational complex with several ice rinks, a pool and other facilities, known as the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre. The team finished with the most points in the league, securing the Presidents' Trophy. Al Montoya
Álvaro Silva Montoya (born February 13, 1985) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender who played a total of nine seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Arizona Coyotes, New York Islanders, Winnipeg Jets, Florida Panthers, Montreal Canadiens, and Edmonton Oilers. He was selected in the first round, sixth overall, by the New York Rangers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft after a three-year collegiate career with the University of Michigan. Montoya is the first Cuban-American to play in the NHL. Playing career Montoya was born in Chicago, Illinois, but grew up in nearby Glenview, Illinois. 2013–14 Ottawa Senators Season
The 2013–14 Ottawa Senators season was the team's 22nd season in the National Hockey League (NHL). The 2013–14 season was the first season of a re-organization by the NHL of its divisions. Ottawa was placed in a new Atlantic Division with the Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs. The Senators failed to qualify for the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs. This was also the team's first season since 1993–94 without long-time captain and Senators legend Daniel Alfredsson. Edward Pasquale
Edward Robert Nito Pasquale (born November 20, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for HC Pustertal Wölfe of the ICE Hockey League. He most recently played for Barys Astana in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He has formerly played with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). Pasquale was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior Pasquale played in the Ontario Hockey League for the Belleville Bulls for parts of both the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons. Midway through his second season in Belleville, he was traded to the Saginaw Spirit. He would spend the next two and a half seasons here, becoming the Spirit starter in both the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons.
