2013–14 Ohio Bobcats Women's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Ohio Bobcats women's basketball team represented Ohio University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bobcats, led by first year head coach Bob Boldon, played their home games at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio as a member of the Mid-American Conference. Bob Boldon
Robert John Boldon (born May 1, 1975) is an American women's basketball coach and former basketball player. He is the current head Ohio Bobcats women's basketball, women's basketball coach at Ohio University. He previously held the same position at Youngstown State University, Lambuth University, Lambuth, and University of Arkansas at Monticello, Arkansas-Monticello. Playing career Boldon started at point guard for four years and led Walsh to the NAIA Final Four in 1995–96. As a freshman, Boldon averaged 8.2 points and accumulated 163 assists. Over the next three years, Boldon was named First Team All-Mid-Ohio Conference each season, accumulating 204 assists and an average of 12.7 points as a sophomore, 222 assists and an average of 14.5 points as a junior, and 186 assists and an average of 14.3 points as a senior. They finished the season 25–12, 11–7 in MAC play to finish in third place in the East Division. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the MAC tournament where they lost to Akron. 2014 MAC Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2014 Mid-American Conference women's basketball tournament is the post-season basketball tournament for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) 2013–14 college basketball season. The 2014 tournament was held March 10–15, 2014. Third seeded Akron won the championship over fifth seeded Ball State. Rachel Tecca of Akron was the MVP. Format First round games will be held on campus sites at the higher seed on March 10. The remaining rounds will be held at Quicken Loans Arena, between March 12–15. Notre Dame College
Notre Dame College (Notre Dame College of Ohio or NDC) was a private Roman Catholic college in South Euclid, Ohio. Established in 1922 by the Sisters of Notre Dame as a women's college, it was coeducational from January 2001 until its closure. The Sisters of Notre Dame ended their sponsorship of the college in 2023. Convocation Center (Ohio University)
The Convocation Center is a 13,000-seat multi-purpose arena that is home to the Ohio Bobcats basketball, volleyball, and wrestling teams. History The Convocation Center, also known locally as "The Convo," was designed by architecture firm Brubaker/Brandt of Columbus, Ohio and built by Knowlton Construction Company of Bellefontaine, Ohio. The first men's basketball game in the arena featured an 80–70 Ohio victory over the Indiana Hoosiers on December 3, 1968.
