2013–14 Long Beach State 49ers Men's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Long Beach State 49ers men's basketball team represented California State University, Long Beach during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 49ers were led by seventh year head coach Dan Monson and played their home games at Walter Pyramid and were members of the Big West Conference. They finished the season 15–17, 10–6 in Big West play to finish in third place. They advanced to the semifinals of the Big West Conference tournament where they lost to Cal State Northridge. Dan Monson
Daniel Lloyd Monson (born October 6, 1961) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at Eastern Washington. He was previously the head coach at Long Beach State for 17 seasons. He was also the head coach at Minnesota for over seven seasons, reaching postseason play five times. Before coaching the Gophers, he was the head coach at Gonzaga for two seasons, leading the team on an improbable run to the Elite Eight during his last season. Early years Monson is the son of college basketball coach Don Monson, and spent most of his early years in eastern Washington, where his father was a successful high school head coach in Cheney and Pasco for 18 seasons. The 2013–14 Kansas State Wildcats men's basketball team represented Kansas State University in the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 2013–14 Loyola Marymount Lions men's basketball team represented Loyola Marymount University during the 2013–14 college basketball season. This Lions were coached by sixth year head coach Max Good. The Lions competed in the West Coast Conference and played their home games at Gersten Pavilion. McKale Center
McKale Memorial Center is an athletic arena in the southwest United States, located on the campus of the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. As the home of the university's Wildcats basketball team of the Big 12 Conference, it is primarily used for basketball, but also has physical training and therapy facilities. Its construction is marked with a large copper cap that has oxidized brown. In the 1960s, it was recognized that the Wildcats' basketball venue, Bear Down Gymnasium, was outdated and in need of replacement. Major planning for the new facility began in 1966. During construction, the Wildcats briefly considered playing some of its 1971–72 home schedule in the then-newly completed 8,000-seat arena at the Tucson Convention Center, but eventually declined, remaining in Bear Down Gym until the new venue was ready. The 2013–14 Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hawaii Pacific Sharks are the 13 varsity athletic teams that represent Hawaii Pacific University, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Sharks compete as members of the Pacific West Conference. Hawaii Pacific University's first venture into intercollegiate athletics came with the formation of the men's basketball team. The university previously competed in the NAIA before joining the NCAA in the mid-1990s.
