2013–14 Green Bay Phoenix Men's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team represented the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was fourth year coach Brian Wardle. The Phoenix played their home games at the Resch Center and were members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 24–7, 14–2 in Horizon League play to claim the Horizon League regular season championship. They lost in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament to Milwaukee. As a regular season conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to Belmont. Brian Wardle (basketball)
Brian M. Wardle (born October 9, 1979) is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball coach at Bradley University. Early life and education Born in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, Wardle graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in nearby Hinsdale in 1997. At Hinsdale Central, Wardle earned two all-state basketball honors and broke scoring and rebounding records in school history. After high school, Wardle played for Marquette University at guard from 1997 to 2001, under head coach Mike Deane from 1997 to 1999 and Tom Crean from 1999 to 2001. In four seasons, Wardle played 117 games with 93 starts. As a senior in 2000–01, Wardle was Marquette's leading scorer with 18.8 points per game; he would end his college career as the no. 3 all-time leading scorer at Marquette. The DakotaDome is an indoor multi-purpose stadium in the north central United States, located on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. Opened in 1979 at a cost of $8.2 million, the 9,100-seat venue is the home of the South Dakota Coyotes for football, swimming and diving, and track and field. The approximate elevation is above sea level. For five seasons beginning in 2013, the DakotaDome also hosted Briar Cliff University football ( NAIA); following the 2017 season, the Chargers resumed home games on their campus in Sioux City, Iowa, to the southeast. The 2013–14 Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball team represented the University of Tulsa during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Hurricane, led by second year head coach Danny Manning, played their home games at the Reynolds Center and were members of Conference USA. They finished the season 21–13, 13–3 in C-USA play to finish in a four way tie for the C-USA regular season championship. They were champions of the C-USA tournament to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the second round to UCLA.
