Carlisle United F
Carlisle ( , ; from ) is a city in the Cumberland district of Cumbria, England. Carlisle's early history is marked by the establishment of a settlement called Luguvalium to serve forts along Hadrian's Wall in Roman Britain. Due to its proximity to Scotland (being located south of the current Anglo-Scottish border), Carlisle Castle and the city became an important military stronghold in the Middle Ages. The castle served as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots in 1568 and currently hosts the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. A priory was built in the early 12th century, which subsequently became Carlisle Cathedral in 1133 on the creation of the Diocese of Carlisle. As the seat of a diocese, Carlisle therefore gained city status. Carlisle also served as the county town of the historic county of Cumberland from the county's creation in the 12th century. The English Football League Two, simply known as League Two and for sponsorship purposes as Sky Bet League Two, is a professional association football league in England. EFL League Two is the fourth division of the English Football League (EFL) and fourth-highest tier overall in the English football league system, after the Premier League, EFL Championship and the EFL League One and is contested by 24 clubs. Introduced for the 2004–05 English football season as Football League Two, it is a rebrand of the former Football League Third Division. As of the 2025-26 season, Newport County hold the longest tenure in this division following their promotion in the 2012–13 season. Craig Roddan
Craig John Roddan (born 22 April 1993) is an English footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Career in England In 2007, he joined Liverpool academy from Wigan Athletic. While at the academy, Roddan attended Maricourt Catholic School. While in the academy, Roddan revealed he play alongside then-club captain, Steven Gerrard, in a friendly match, describing the experience as "amazing". Roddan was also known for the "Liverpool U18s skill master". On 28 November 2013, Roddan joined League One club Carlisle United on a month-long loan, due to last until 4 January 2014. Charni Ekangamene
Charni Ekangamene (born 16 February 1994) is a Belgian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Berchem Sport in the Belgian Division 2. Born in Antwerp, he began his career with Royal Antwerp before moving to their English sister club, Manchester United, in 2010. Having failed to break into the first-team, he was loaned to Carlisle United in January 2014, before making a permanent move back to Belgium with Zulte Waregem in July 2014. Gary Madine
Gary Lee Madine (born 24 August 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker. He last played for club Hartlepool United. Madine began his career with Carlisle United, for whom he made his professional debut in 2007. He was sent out on loan in 2009, first with Rochdale and then Coventry City, and again in 2010, to Chesterfield. He signed a permanent contract with Sheffield Wednesday in January 2011 for an undisclosed fee. Lee Adamson Miller (born 18 May 1983) is a Scottish football coach and former player who played as a striker. Miller played at club level for Falkirk (three spells), Bristol City, Heart of Midlothian, Dundee United, Aberdeen, Middlesbrough, Notts County, Scunthorpe United, Carlisle United, Kilmarnock, Livingston and East Kilbride; he represented Scotland in three international matches during the late 2000s. Prince Christian Buaben Abankwah (born 23 April 1988), known as Prince Buaben, is a Ghanaian professional footballer. Buaben grew up in the Netherlands and was a youth player at AFC Ajax. He joined Dundee United in 2007 and won the Scottish Cup with them in 2010. He played in England from 2011, with Watford and later Carlisle United. Daniel Richard Livesey (born 31 December 1984) is an English retired professional footballer. A defender, he made 311 appearances in the Football League, with his longest period being a ten-year spell at Carlisle United. Christopher Steven Chantler (born 16 December 1990) is an English footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for Colne FC. He previously played for Spennymoor Town. Matthew James Robson (born 23 January 1985) is a former professional footballer who played as a left winger or left back for Hartlepool United, Carlisle United and Shildon.
