2013 World Archery Championships – Men's Individual Recurve
The men's individual recurve competition at the 2013 World Archery Championships took place on 29 September – 6 October 2013 in Belek, Turkey. 146 archers from 62 countries entered the competition, with a maximum of three entries per country. The top 104 archers qualified for the knockout tournament, with the top 8 scores in qualifying receiving a bye to the third round. Reigning champion Kim Woo-jin was not selected as part of the South Korean representation. Nevertheless, for the fifth Championships in succession the title was won by a Korean, in this case 18-year-old Lee Seung-yun, who in his first season representing Korea defeated teammate, Olympic champion, World Cup champion, and world number one archer Oh Jin-hyek in the final in 5 sets. Recurve Bow
In archery, a recurve bow is one of the main Bow shape, shapes a bow (weapon), bow can take, with limbs that curve away from the archer when unstrung. A recurve bow stores more energy and delivers energy more efficiently than the equivalent straight-limbed bow, giving a greater amount of energy and speed to the arrow. A recurve will permit a shorter bow than the simple straight limb bow for a given arrow energy, and this form was often preferred by archers in environments where long weapons could be cumbersome, such as in brush and forest terrain, or while horse archer, on horseback. Khairul Anuar bin Mohamad (born 22 September 1991) is a Malaysian professional archer. He began to compete for the national team in 2011. 2011 FITA Archery World Cup Khairul participated in the 2011 FITA Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Shanghai, China in what was only his third international tournament. Tarundeep Rai (born 22 February 1984) is an Indian archer from Sikkim. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2021 by the Government of India for his contribution to sports. He is a three time Olympian. Early life Rai was born in Namchi, Sikkim, India. He is supported by a sports NGO, Olympic Gold Quest. Jayanta Talukdar (born 2 March 1986 in Guwahati) is an Indian archery, archer from Assam. He has won individual gold Medal in the 2006 Archery World Cup. Career Talukdar was part of the Indian team that won the silver medal at the 2004 Junior World Championships. He followed up with a gold medal at the International Archery Federation, FITA Meteksan World Cup in 2006, becoming the first Indian archer (bhartiya tirandaj) to win gold at the event.
