The Billie Jean King Cup (or the BJK Cup) is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. The Billie Jean King Cup is the world's largest annual women's international team sports competition in terms of the number of nations that compete. The current chair is Katrina Adams. Samantha Jane Stosur (born 30 March 1984) is an Australian former professional tennis player. She is a former List of WTA number 1 ranked doubles tennis players, world No. 1 in doubles, a ranking which she first achieved on 6 February 2006 and held for 61 consecutive weeks. Kimiko Date-Krumm
is a Japanese former professional tennis player. She reached the semifinals of the 1994 Australian Open, the 1995 French Open and the 1996 Wimbledon Championships, and won the Japan Open a record four times. She reached a career-high ranking of world No. 4 in 1995, and retired from professional tennis in November 1996. She returned to tennis nearly 12 years later, announcing an unexpected comeback in April 2008. She then won her eighth WTA title at the 2009 Korea Open, becoming the second-oldest player in the Open era, after Billie Jean King, to win a singles title on the WTA Tour. Olympic Stadium (Moscow)
Olympic Stadium () (known locally as Olimpiyskiy) was an indoor arena located in Moscow, Russia. It was built for the 1980 Summer Olympics and, divided into two separated halls, hosted the basketball and boxing events. It was closed in March 2019, and was subsequently demolished in 2020 for the construction of a new complex. Reconstruction On 1 January 2019, the sports complex was closed for reconstruction, which is scheduled to last until 2025. The pool is closed in the summer of the same year. On 3 March, demolition of the main arena started and continued till 25 December 2020, when the sport complex buildings was completely demolished for further reconstruction. Liezel Huber (née Horn; born 21 August 1976) is a South African- American retired tennis player who represented the United States internationally since August 2007. Huber has won four Grand Slam titles in women's doubles with partner Cara Black, one with Lisa Raymond, and two mixed doubles titles with Bob Bryan. Varvara Petrivna Lepchenko (born May 21, 1986) is an Uzbekistani-born American professional tennis player. She is of Ukrainian descent and played for Uzbekistan before relocating to the United States. Lepchenko won a singles title on the WTA Challenger Tour and 13 singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Women's Circuit. She won all her 14 ITF titles in the United States. Jamie Lee Hampton (born January 8, 1990) is an American former professional tennis player. In July 2013, she reached her highest singles ranking of world No. 24. Due to many injuries, she needed to stop playing in 2014, and officially retired in 2020. RDS Stadium (formerly 105 Stadium) is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena located in Rimini, Italy. The arena has a capacity of 4,703 (expandable to 5,001 people) in the basketball configuration and up to 7,500 for concerts. History The arena broke ground in April 2000. At the time, Basket Rimini was still playing in Serie A1, the highest-tier level of the Italian basketball league system.
