2012 FIRA-AER Women's Sevens Grand Prix Series
The 2012 FIRA-AER Women's Sevens Grand Prix Series was the tenth edition of the European Women's Sevens Championship. The first round was played in the Netherlands and the final round was held in Moscow which was also a qualifying tournament for the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens. England won the Grand Prix Series title and also qualified for the Sevens World Cup in Moscow the next year, along with Spain, France, Netherlands and Ireland. Russia automatically qualified as hosts. 2014 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Grand Prix Series was the top level of international women's rugby sevens competitions organised by Rugby Europe during 2014. The series featured two tournaments, one hosted in Moscow and one hosted in Brive-la-Gaillarde. England won the Moscow tournament while France won the Brive tournament. Russia won the overall championship after finishing as runners-up in both tournaments. Rugby Europe Women's Sevens
The Rugby Europe Women's Sevens, previously the FIRA–AER Women's Sevens until 2013, is a series of regional championships for women's international rugby sevens in Europe. Prior to 2012, the annual tournament is held over two days, typically on a weekend in June, before the highest category tournament was reorganized as the Sevens Grand Prix Series, modeled after the format of the World Rugby Sevens Series. The tournaments are sanctioned and sponsored by Rugby Europe. History Rugby sevens — also known as 7-a-side, or 7s — is a short form of the sport of rugby union that was first played in 1883. The first (men's) internationals took place in 1973. Brive
Brive-la-Gaillarde (; Limousin dialect of ), commonly known as simply Brive, is a commune of France. It is a sub-prefecture and the largest city of the Corrèze department. It has around 46,000 inhabitants, while the population of the agglomeration was 75,579 in 2019. Although it is by far the biggest commune in Corrèze, the capital is Tulle.
