2013 European Ladies' Team Championship
The 2013 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 9–13 July at Fulford Golf Club in Fulford, England. It was the 30th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue The hosting Fulford Golf Club was founded in 1906. The golf course, located 2 kilometers (approximately 1 mile) south of York, North Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom, was designed by Charles MacKenzie, brother of well known golf course architect Alister MacKenzie, and opened in 1935. Fulford had previously been home to several European Tour events, including the Benson and Hedges International Open between 1971 and 1989. In 1976 the club hosted the inaugural Women's British Open. Fulford Golf Club
Fulford Golf Club is a private golf club located approximately south of York, England. It was founded in 1906, moving to its current site, which had been approved by James Braid, in 1935. The golf course was designed by Charles MacKenzie, brother of notable golf course architect Alister MacKenzie. Fulford was home to several PGA European Tour events including the Benson and Hedges International Open between 1971 and 1989. Memorably, during the 1981 tournament, Bernhard Langer climbed the tree by the 17th green to play his third shot. The club also hosted the Martini International in 1967, the Sun Alliance European Matchplay Championship in 1979 and the Murphy's Cup in 1990 and 1991. Golf Course
A golf course is the grounds on which the sport of golf is played. Manon De Roey
Manon De Roey (born 12 December 1991) is a professional golfer from Belgium who plays on the Ladies European Tour. In 2022, she won the Aramco Team Series – Bangkok individual title. Amateur career De Roey started playing golf at age 11 and won her first tournament at age 16, the Belgian Youth Trophy. Laura Gonzalez Escallon
Laura Gonzalez Escallon (born 6 October 1990) is a professional golfer from Belgium who has played on the LPGA Tour and the Symetra Tour. Amateur career Gonzalez was a member of the Belgium National Team and won the 2008 Girls Amateur Championship. She represented Belgium at the Espirito Santo Trophy in 2008 and 2010, and the Continent of Europe at the 2009 Vagliano Trophy. She attended Purdue University from 2009 to 2013, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics. Leslie Cloots (born 1994) is a professional golfer from Belgium who plays on the Symetra Tour. She was runner-up at the 2014 British Ladies Amateur and the 2016 European Ladies Amateur. Amateur career Cloots was born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium, where her home club is Ternesse G&CC. At the age of 13, she started competing in international amateur events. Cloots was a member of the Belgium National Team and was part of the Espirito Santo Trophy squad in 2012, 2014 and 2016. Sarah Schober (born 15 April 1992) is an Austrian professional golfer and Ladies European Tour player. She was runner-up at the 2022 Big Green Egg Open and won the 2016 LETAS Order of Merit. Amateur career Schober was born in Wagna, Austria and began playing golf at the age of eight. At twelve, she joined the National Team. She appeared three times at the Espirito Santo Trophy, and multiple times at the European Ladies' Team Championship, earning a silver medal in 2013 as Austria lost the final to Spain 5 to 2. Women's British Open
The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a major championship in women's professional golf. It is recognised by both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour as a major. The reigning champion is Ashleigh Buhai, who won in a playoff at Muirfield in 2022. The Benson & Hedges International Open was a men's professional golf tournament which was played in England. It was founded in 1971 and for its first five years it was called the Benson & Hedges Festival of Golf. It was sponsored by Benson & Hedges, a cigarette company.
