2013 Capital Football Federation Cup
Clubs affiliated with Capital Football in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) – and surrounding areas of New South Wales – competed in 2014 for the Capital Football Federation Cup. Teams from the same Club playing in multiple divisions were allowed to compete. This knockout competition was won by Tuggeranong United, their 4th title. Winning the 2013 Federation Cup also entitled Tuggeranong United to become the ACT's sole qualifier for the 2014 FFA Cup, entering at the Round of 32. The original intention from Capital Football was that the Federation Cup would be the qualifying tournament to determine the ACT qualifier, but match scheduling issues meant the 2014 winner would not be decided until after the qualifier needed to be named. Capital Football Federation Cup
The Federation Cup is a soccer competition established in 1962 that is held between clubs who are affiliated with Capital Football in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounding areas of New South Wales. It is the premier cup competition in the region. Since 2014, the Federation Cup has concurrently served as the ACT competition for the preliminary rounds of the FFA Cup, now known as the Australia Cup, with the cup winner representing the ACT. Canberra FC currently holds the record for most titles, having lifted the Cup 18 times. Cooma Tigers are the current cup holders, having lifted the Cup in 2021. Belconnen United Football Club (formerly ''Belconnen Blue Devils'') is an Australian semi-professional association football club based in the northern Canberra region of Belconnen, ACT. The women's First Grade team currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Capital Football. Canberra Olympic FC is an Australian semi-professional Association football club based in the suburb of O'Connor in the north of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The National Premier Leagues Capital Football 1 (also known as NPL ACT 1 or simply NPL1) is a soccer competition contested by clubs affiliated to Capital Football. The league is the highest level (level 1) competition in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) region. It is a subdivision of the National Premier Leagues and sits in Level 2 in the overall Australian league system. History The competition was restructured after the 2006 season, based on criterion requiring a development pathway within clubs where each club must field a team in a reserves and Under-18 divisions.
