2013 British Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2013 British motorcycle Grand Prix was the twelfth round of the 2013 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, 2013 MotoGP season. It was held at the Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone on 1 September 2013. After two years of using the new International Paddock built for the 2011 British Grand Prix, 2011 Formula One round, the MotoGP teams worked from the National Circuit pits for the first time since 2010, with the finish line located at its traditional point, the exit of Woodcote. 2013 Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing Season
The 2013 FIM MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 65th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary Jorge Lorenzo started the season as the defending World Champion, while Honda was the defending Manufacturers' Champion. Moto2 champion Marc Márquez joined the MotoGP grid with Repsol Honda. In the premier MotoGP class, Lorenzo, along with Repsol Honda teammates Marc Márquez and Dani Pedrosa battled it out for most of the season in regards to the championship battle. Bradley William Smith (born 28 November 1990) is a British motorcycle racer acting as a test-rider for the official BMW Motorrad WorldSBK factory team in World Superbikes. Smith was linked to RNF E-Racing in MotoE for 2022. He was injured shortly after a Le Mans start at an FIM Endurance World Championship event in April 2022 when opening for team Moto Ain Yamaha. Nicholas Patrick Hayden (July 30, 1981 May 22, 2017), nicknamed "The Kentucky Kid", was an American professional motorcycle racer who won the MotoGP World Championship in 2006. Hayden began racing motorcycles at a young age. He began his road racing career in the CMRA before progressing to the AMA Supersport Championship and then to the AMA Superbike Championship. He won the AMA title in 2002 and was approached by the Repsol Honda team to race for them in MotoGP in 2003. Cal Crutchlow (born 29 October 1985) is an English professional motorcycle racer who retired from regular competition after the 2020 season.
