2013 Big West Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2013 Big West Conference men's basketball tournament took place March 14–16, 2013 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The Tournament was previously held at the Anaheim Convention Center. The winner of the tournament received the conference's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Format The top eight teams qualified for the 2013 Big West tournament. In the Semifinals the highest seed played the lowest seed, while the remaining two teams matched up. UC Riverside was ineligible for postseason play, and did not compete in the tournament. Cal State Northridge finished 9th, and didn't qualify to play in the Big West tournament. Honda Center (formerly known as the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim) is an indoor arena located in Anaheim, California. The arena is home to the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. Originally named the Anaheim Arena during construction, it was completed in 1993 at a cost of US$123 million. Locally based Arrowhead Water paid $15 million for the naming rights over 10 years in October 1993. 2012–13 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors basketball team represented the University of Hawaii at Manoa during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rainbow Warriors, led by third year head coach Gib Arnold, played their home games at the Stan Sheriff Center and were first year members of the Big West Conference. They finished the season 17–15, 10–8 in Big West play to finish in fifth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Big West tournament to UC Irvine. They were invited to the 2013 CIT where they lost in the first round to Air Force. The 2012–13 Rainbow Warrior roster was composed of players from eight countries (Angola, Australia, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Latvia, New Zealand, and the United States). The 2012–13 UC Irvine Anteaters men's basketball team represented the University of California, Irvine during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Anteaters, led by third year head coach Russell Turner, played their home games at the Bren Events Center and were members of the Big West Conference.
