2012–13 Western Michigan Broncos Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Western Michigan Broncos men's basketball team represented Western Michigan University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Broncos, led by tenth year head coach Steve Hawkins, played their home games at the University Arena and were members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 22–13, 10–6 in MAC play to be champions of the West Division. They advanced to the semifinals of the MAC tournament where they lost to Ohio. They were invited to the 2013 College Basketball Invitational where they defeated North Dakota State and Wyoming to advance to the semifinals where they lost to George Mason. Steve Hawkins
Stephen Greg Hawkins (born August 3, 1962) is an American college basketball coach. He is currently an assistant men's basketball coach for Southern Illinois University Carbondale, a position he has held since 2024. He had previously served as the head coach at Western Michigan University and Quincy University. Coaching career Early career Hawkins was born in Ventura, California. Following his graduation from high school, Hawkins spent time as a high school basketball coach in the Los Angeles area at Villanova Preparatory School and St. Bonaventure High School during the early 1980s. During this time he worked as an assistant at UCLA basketball camps, serving as chauffeur for legendary Bruins coach John Wooden. While the two were stuck in traffic, they were able to talk basketball. Paw Paw, Michigan
Paw Paw is a village in and the county seat of Van Buren County, Michigan. The population was 3,362 as of the 2020 census. Overview The village is located at the confluence of the east and south branches of the Paw Paw River in the northeast portion of Paw Paw Township. Paw Paw was incorporated in 1837 and is located in the southwestern portion of Michigan, on Interstate 94 (I-94) approximately west of Kalamazoo. Paw Paw is named for the pawpaw trees which once grew along the Paw Paw River. In 1832, Rodney Hinckley located a farm on the Paw Paw River. Gobles, Michigan
Gobles is a city in Van Buren County of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 829. It was originally called Gobleville, after its founders, the Goble family. History In 1864–1865, John Goble built a hotel at this location. In 1870, a plot was laid out as Gobleville by Hiram E. Goble. Warren Goble plotted an addition to the original plot two years later. Hiram Goble also became the first postmaster on April 16, 1872 when the post office was moved from Lake Mills. Gobleville was incorporated as a village in 1893. Benzonia, Michigan
Benzonia ( ) is a village in Benzie County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 551 at the 2020 census, up from 497 at the 2010 census.
