2012–13 Weber State Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Weber State Wildcats men's basketball team represented Weber State University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wildcats, were led by seventh year head coach Randy Rahe and played their home games at the Dee Events Center. They were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 30–7, 18–2 in Big Sky play to finish in second place. They advanced to the championship game of the 2013 Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament, Big Sky tournament where they lost to Montana. They were invited to the 2013 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament, 2013 CIT where they defeated Cal Poly, Air Force, Oral Roberts and Northern Iowa to advance to the championship game where they lost to East Carolina. Randy Rahe
Randy Michael Rahe (born June 12, 1960) is an American former college basketball coach who was the head men's basketball coach at Weber State University. He was hired on March 23, 2006, as the 9th coach in Weber State's 47-year history. Rahe announced his retirement May 16, 2022 through the University, Rahe came to WSU from the University of Utah where he was an assistant under former coach Ray Giacoletti. Rahe was also an assistant under Stew Morrill for 13 seasons, first at Colorado State University and then at Utah State University. Rahe posted a record of 54–17 as a high school coach in Colorado from 1985 to 1988. He has also been an assistant coach at Colorado College, Colorado and Denver. Born in Bancroft, Iowa, Rahe graduated from Buena Vista University located in Storm Lake, Iowa in 1982. At BVU he played point guard in basketball and shortstop in baseball. Joel Bolomboy
Joel Bolomboy () (born January 28, 1994) is a Ukrainian-born Russian professional basketball player for Crvena zvezda of the Serbian KLS, the ABA League and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Weber State Wildcats, where he was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Year in 2016. He was born in Ukraine but received Russian citizenship in 2018. Early life and college career Bolomboy was born in Donetsk, Ukraine to a Congolese father and a Russian mother. The family moved to Fort Worth, Texas when Bolomboy was less than three years old. While in college, he told the ''Standard-Examiner'' that he did not "remember anything" about Ukraine and felt like he had "never been there." The Provident Credit Union Event Center, formerly and more commonly known as the Event Center Arena, is a complex consisting of an indoor arena and a fitness club on the main campus of San José State University in downtown San Jose, California. The 2012–13 San Jose State Spartans men's basketball team representsed San Jose State University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Spartans, led by eighth year head coach George Nessman, played their home games at the Event Center Arena and were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 9–20, 3–14 in WAC play to finish in a tie for eighth place. They lost in the first round of the WAC tournament to UTSA. This was their last season as a member of the WAC.
