2012–13 UCF Knights Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 UCF Knights men's basketball team represented the University of Central Florida during the 2012–13 college basketball season. The Knights competed in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Conference USA (C-USA). The Knights, in the program's 44th season of basketball, were led by third-year head coach Donnie Jones, and played their home games at the UCF Arena on the university's main campus in Orlando, Florida. Due to NCAA sanctions, UCF was ineligible for the 2013 Conference USA men's basketball tournament or a post-season berth. This was also the last season UCF played in Conference USA before moving to the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 20–11, 9–7 in C-USA play to finish in a tie for fourth place. Donnie Jones (basketball)
Donald Isaac Jones Sr. (born July 7, 1966) is an American college basketball coach and former college basketball player. He is currently the men's head basketball coach at Stetson University. For the 2023-24 season, Jones led Stetson University to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. Prior to Stetson, Jones served as the head coach of the UCF Knights men's basketball team from 2010 to 2016 and at Marshall from 2007 to 2010. After spending three years as head coach at Marshall, amassing a 55–41 record, Jones was hired by UCF after the university decided not to retain Kirk Speraw for the 2010–11 season. Before Marshall, Jones was an assistant with the Florida Gators for 11 seasons, and was hired by Marshall after he helped Billy Donovan coach the Gators to consecutive national championships in 2006 and 2007. Matt Williams (basketball)
Matthew Williams Jr. (born October 14, 1993) is an American professional basketball player. Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Williams played college basketball for the UCF Knights. College career Williams came to the University of Central Florida from Jones High School in Orlando. He suffered several medical setbacks as he suffered a burst appendix as a freshman, then played through knee pain as a sophomore. Early in his junior season, Williams had tests and learned that his knee pain was due to inferior bipartite patella, a rare congenital condition requiring surgery. Williams had the surgery, missing the majority of that season. Following his redshirt junior season, Williams graduated from UCF and entertained transferring for his remaining year of collegiate eligibility. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Dillard High School is a historic public middle and high school located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
