2012–13 St. John's Red Storm Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 St. John's Red Storm men's basketball team represented St. John's University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was coached by Steve Lavin in his third year at the school. St. John's home games were played at Carnesecca Arena and Madison Square Garden and the team was a member of the Big East Conference. The Big East Conference was a List of college athletic conferences, collegiate athletics conference that consisted of as many as 16 universities in the eastern half of the United States from 1979 to 2013. JaKarr Sampson
JaKarr Jordan Sampson (born March 20, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Kuwait SC of the Kuwaiti Division I Basketball League. He played college basketball for the St. John's Red Storm. He is a frequent rebounder and shot-blocker, and is noted for his speed and a near 7'0" wingspan. He won a national championship with Brewster Academy in 2012 after achieving star status with his high school team. High school career Sampson attended St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio from 2007 to 2010, before transferring to Brewster Academy in August 2010 for his senior year. In November 2010, he signed a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball at St. John's University. Orlando Sánchez (basketball)
Orlando Emilio Sánchez Caminero (born May 26, 1988) is a Dominican professional basketball player for Bucaneros de La Guaira of the Venezuelan Liga Profesional de Baloncesto (LPB). He played college basketball for Monroe College and St. John's University, and has represented the Dominican Republic in international competition.
