The 2012-13 Oberliga (ice hockey), Oberliga season was the 54th season for the Oberliga, the third-level ice hockey league in Germany. It was divided into four groups (North, South, East, West). Oberliga (ice Hockey)
The Oberliga (English: ''Upper League'') is the third tier of ice hockey in Ice hockey in Germany, Germany, below DEL2 and ahead of the Regionalliga (ice hockey), Regionalliga. Since the 2015/16 season, the league has been split into two regionalised divisions, Nord (north) and Süd (south). The Oberliga was originally founded in 1948 and is administered by the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB). History The ''Oberliga'' is the oldest continuously operating ice hockey league in Germany. The league was formed in 1948 after World War II, WWII as the highest level of hockey in Germany. The Oberliga has been the top, second and third level of ice hockey in the German league pyramid throughout its history. EHC Neuwied
EHC Neuwied is a professional ice hockey team in Neuwied, Germany. They play in the Central European Hockey League. The club was founded in 1979. They played in the Oberliga, the third level of German ice hockey until 2016, and then in the fourth tier Regionalliga West which is organised by the North Rhine-Westphalia Ice Hockey Federation. After winning the league in 2023, the federation expelled the three teams from the league that were from outside North Rhine-Westphalia. Neuwied and EG Diez-Limburg switched to the Belgian-Dutch ''BeNe League'' for the 2023-24 season. In 2024 the BeNe League became the Central European Hockey League.
