2012–13 Long Island Blackbirds Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Long Island Blackbirds men's basketball team represented The Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Blackbirds, led by first year head coach Jack Perri, played their home games at the Athletic, Recreation & Wellness Center, with three home games at the brand new Barclays Center, and were members of the Northeast Conference. They finished the season 20–14, 12–6 in NEC play to finish in a three way tie for second place. They were champions of the NEC tournament for the third consecutive year to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the First Four round to James Madison. Jack Perri
John Perri (born 1975) is the head men's basketball coach at Southern New Hampshire University. He previously served as the head men's basketball coach for LIU Brooklyn from 2012 to 2017, and was the head coach at Rhode Island College from 2004 to 2005. Perri also has been an assistant coach at his alma mater Bentley and Boston University. Comcast Center (arena)
Xfinity Center is the indoor arena and student activities center that serves as the home of the University of Maryland Terrapins men's and women's basketball teams. Ground was broken in May 2000 and construction was completed in October 2002 at a cost of $125 million. It replaced Cole Field House as the Terrapins' home court, which had served as the home of Maryland basketball since 1955. The on-campus facility was originally named the Comcast Center after Comcast Corporation purchased a 20-year, $25 million corporate naming agreement when the arena opened in 2002. In July 2014, it was renamed Xfinity Center after Comcast's cable brand, Xfinity. The 2012–13 Maryland Terrapins men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland, College Park in 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The team, led by second year head coach Mark Turgeon, played their home games at the Comcast Center. They finished the season 25–13, 8–10 in ACC play to finish in seventh place. They advanced to the semifinals of the ACC tournament where they lost to North Carolina. Kirby Sports Center
Kirby Sports Center is a 2,453-seat multi-purpose arena in Easton, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1973 and is home to the Lafayette College Leopards basketball team. It hosted the 2000 Patriot League men's basketball tournament and has been the site of two Patriot League tournament finals, an Ivy League playoff game and numerous high school tournament contests. The 2012–13 Lafayette Leopards men's basketball team represented Lafayette College during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Leopards, led by 18th year head coach Fran O'Hanlon, played their home games at the Kirby Sports Center and were members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 19–15, 10–4 in Patriot League play to finish in a tie for second place. They advanced to the championship game of the 2013 Patriot League men's basketball tournament, Patriot League tournament where they lost to Bucknell. Barclays Center Classic
The Barclays Center Classic is an annual early season college basketball tournament that was inaugurated in 2012. Each of the eight schools plays four games, with the bracketed portion of the tournament concluding at the tournament's namesake Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
