2012–13 Håndboldligaen (men's Handball)
The 2012–13 Håndboldligaen was the 77th season of the Håndboldligaen, Denmark's premier Handball league. Aalborg Håndbold won the championship, when they beat KIF Kolding København in the final. Nordsjælland Håndbold should have been relegated, when they finished last in the regular season, but due to Viborg HK pulling their men's team, they could stay in the league. The previous season's champions, AG København, had gone bankrupt and had fused with KIF Kolding, making KIF Kolding København. Danish Handball League
The Herreligaen (men's league), formerly known as Herrehåndboldligaen (men's handball league), is the men's top Danish professional handball league. The winners of the Herreligaen are recognised as the Danish men's handball champions. The current champions are Aalborg Håndbold. Season The Herreligaen season consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. The eight best teams of the regular season advance to further games, where they are divided into two groups of four teams each. No. 1 and 2 from the regular season start with 2 points. No. 3 and 4 start with 1 point, while no. 5-8 start with no points. After these six games the two top teams in each group will play semifinals. No. 1 from one group is up against no. 2 from the other. The winners will meet in finals, while the losers will play against each other for the bronze medal. Team Tvis Holstebro
TTH Holstebro is a men's handball club from Holstebro, Denmark. The team is playing in the Danish Primo Tours Ligaen and play their home matches in Gråkjær Arena. History The club was founded on 1 May 2000, when Holstebro Håndbold 90 and Tvis KFUM merged their first teams to create the new club. In 2002 disagreements between HH90 and Tvis KFUM nearly let to the dissolvement of the club. A general assemply was called to dissilve the club, but an agreement between the two founding clubs was found last minute, which separated the elite team as its own legal entity. In 2008 the club won their first ever trophy, when they won the Danish Men's Handball Cup. In 2016 the club changed the name from 'Team Tvis Holstebro' to 'TTH Holstebro'. The reason for the change was that the sponsors was primarily based in Holstebro and wanted that town to have more focus compared to the relatively smaller Tvis. NRGi Arena
Ceres Arena (formerly NRGi Arena) is an indoor arena mainly used for handball matches and public events in Aarhus, Denmark. The arena was opened in 2001 and has a capacity of 5,001 spectators (4,394 seats). It is part of the Aarhus Sports Park, which also includes Aarhus Stadium. Ceres Arena is home to Danish Women's Handball League team Aarhus United and Danish Men's Handball League team Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. The arena functioned as the main venue in the 2002 European Women's Championships, hosting the final. The arena was also used for basketball, by Bakken Bears, but because of the high price for renting the arena, Bakken Bears moved back to there old home Vejlby-Risskov Hallen. Gigantium
The Gigantium (called ''Sparekassen Danmark Arena'' for sponsoring reasons), in Aalborg, Denmark, is a large, rentable faire building, which hosts a large variety of concerts, markets and exhibitions, among other things. It has a capacity of 5,500 people. For concerts, the capacity is 8,500 people. In addition, there is an ice rink/arena for training purposes, a swimming pool and an athletics hall within the sports complex. The main arena building was severely damaged by a fire on 5 July 2017. Skive fH (Skive forenede Håndboldklubber) is a Danish handball club from Skive. The club has a team in the men's 1st Division. They play their home matches in Freja Arena. The Club is a fusion between Skive KFUM and Skive Håndboldklub and is among the country's biggest handball clubs with approximately 600 members, 7 senior teams and 50 youth teams. Ribe-Esbjerg HH is a handball club based in the town of Ribe in Jutland, Denmark. The club was founded on 1 May 1973 and was the result of a merger between Ribe Håndboldklub and Sædding Guldager Idrætsforening. Ribe-Esbjerg HH competes in the men's Danish Handball League. Mors-Thy Håndbold is a handball club, based in Nykøbing Mors and Thisted, Denmark. Currently, Mors-Thy Håndbold competes in the men's Danish Handball League. The home arena of the team is Sparekassen Thy Arena and Thyhallen in Thisted. It is the only professional sports team on Mors.
