2012–13 Ascenso MX Season
The 2012–13 Ascenso MX season took place from 20 July 2012 to 11 May 2013 and was divided into two tournaments named Apertura 2012 and Clausura 2013. The Ascenso MX is the second-tier Association football, football league of Mexico. The Apertura 2012 winner CF La Piedad, La Piedad defeated the Clausura 2013 winner Toros Neza, Neza in a promotional final and won the ascension to the 2013–14 Liga MX season. Changes from the previous season * Club León, León were promoted to Liga MX. * Estudiantes Tecos, Tecos were relegated from Liga MX. * Titanes Tulancingo, Titanes de Tulancingo, winners of Segunda División de México did not obtain a license to compete. The runners-up Club Proyecto Tecamachalco, Tecamachalco also did not obtain a license. Ascenso MX
Ascenso MX, also known as Ascenso BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, was a professional association football league in Mexico and the second level of the Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Primera División A de México (1994–2009) and also as Liga de Ascenso (2009–2012). The champions of the competition was promoted to Liga MX (top level), and the bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier (third level). In 2012, the league rebranded its name and competition format as Ascenso MX, the major changes (clubs do not need a FMF certification to be promoted and that the competition no longer used group stages). Club Celaya
Celaya Fútbol Club is a Mexican professional football club based in Celaya, Guanajuato, that plays in the Liga de Expansión MX, the second level division of Mexican football. The club was founded in 1954, then changed its name to Real Celaya in 1991, Atlético Celaya in 1994. Celaya (; Otomi: ) is a city and its surrounding municipality in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico, located in the southeast quadrant of the state. Estadio Altamira is the current stadium for the team Estudiantes de Altamira, which plays in the Liga de Ascenso. The stadium, which seats 9,581 people, is located in the port city of Altamira in the state of Tamaulipas. Altamira (Tamaulipas)
Altamira is a municipality in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located immediately to the north of the municipalities of Tampico and Ciudad Madero, at the southern tip of the state of Tamaulipas, on the Gulf of Mexico.
