2012 The Masters Grand Slam Of Curling – Men's Event
The men's event of the 2012 Masters Grand Slam of Curling was held from November 14 to 18 at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, the Brantford Golf & Curling Club and the Brant Curling Club in Brantford, Ontario as part of the 2012–13 World Curling Tour. Some of the men's Tier I round robin games were held at the Brantford Golf & Curling Club, while the remainder of the Tier I games and the playoffs round games were held at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. The men's Tier II games and playoffs qualifiers were held at the Brant Curling Club. It was held as the first Grand Slam event on the men's tour. In the final, Kevin Koe of Alberta defeated Jim Cotter of British Columbia with a score of 7–5. The event is split up into two tiers, with 18 teams in Tier I and 16 teams in Tier II. Brantford
Brantford ( 2021 population: 104,688) is a city in Ontario, Canada, founded on the Grand River in Southwestern Ontario. Sebastian Kraupp
Sebastian Kraupp (born 20 May 1985) is a Swedish curler from Karlstad, Sweden. He currently coaches the Swedish men's junior team. From 2005 to 2008 Sebastian Kraupp skipped his own team. Starting with the 2008–2009 season he joined Niklas Edin's team throwing Third stones. Team Edin first achieved widespread attention at the 2009 Aberdeen European Championships where they stunned the curling competition by finishing second after the round robin tournament with a 7 – 2 record. Their only loses were to Team Murdoch of Scotland and Team Ulsrud of Norway who had won the Gold and Bronze medals respectively at the 2009 Moncton World Championships. Niklas Edin
Johan Niklas Edin (born 6 July 1985) is a Swedish curler. He holds several sport distinctions. He is the first and the only skip in World Curling Federation (WCF) history to win three Olympic medals – gold (2022), silver (2018), and bronze (2014). He is also the only curler to skip men's curling teams to seven World Men's Curling Championship gold medals (2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024). Valentin Igor Fédéric Tanner (born 2 October 1992) is a Swiss curler. He currently plays lead for the Peter de Cruz team from Geneva. Career Tanner is the long-time lead for de Cruz. The team played in two World Junior Curling Championships, winning gold at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships (defeating Scotland's Ally Fraser in the final) and a silver at the 2011 World Junior Curling Championships (losing to Sweden's Oskar Eriksson in the final). 2011 was the final year of junior eligibility for de Cruz. Peter Vincent de Cruz (born 4 January 1990) is a Swiss curler. He is an Olympic bronze medallist for Switzerland, having skipped his Swiss rink to a third place finish at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
