2012 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2012 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Serbia from 4 to 16 December. Originally the tournament was scheduled to be held in the Netherlands but on 4 June 2012 the Dutch Handball Federation withdrew from the organization. Subsequently, the European Handball Federation (EHF) launched a new bidding process and eventually selected Serbia as the new host on 18 June 2012. Montenegro captured their first title by defeating defending champion Norway 34–31 in the final. Host selection Initially on its meeting on 27 September 2008 the EHF awarded the championship to the Netherlands, defeating Ukraine in the second round of voting while Germany and Serbia withdrew their candidacy during the congress. This could have been the second time for Netherlands to host the tournament, however, on 4 June 2012 the Dutch Handball Federation announced they are unable to organize the European Championship. Katarina Bulatović
Katarina Bulatović (born 15 November 1984) is a retired Montenegrin handball player, that played the right back position. She was included in the European Handball Federation Hall of Fame in 2023. Career Internationally she represented Serbia women's national handball team, Serbia and Montenegro and Serbia women's national handball team, Serbia, before opting to play for Montenegro women's national handball team, Montenegro in 2011. She was third best goalscorer of the EHF Women's Champions League in the three editions, 2010–11 EHF Women's Champions League, 2010–11, 2011–12 EHF Women's Champions League, 2011–12, 2013–14 EHF Women's Champions League, 2013–14. The 1994 EHF European Women's Handball Championship was the inaugural European Women's Championship. It was held in Germany from 17 to 25 September. It was won by Denmark women's national handball team, Denmark after beating Germany women's national handball team, Germany 27–23 in the final match. This was the first time Denmark won a major international tournament. 2010 European Men's Handball Championship
The 2010 EHF European Men's Handball Championship (9th tournament) was held in Austria from 19 to 31 January, in the cities of Vienna, Graz, Innsbruck, Linz and Wiener Neustadt. Bidding process The two bids were as follows: * Austria * Greece Outside of the two bids, the following bids were withdrawn: * Germany * Iceland * Croatia * Macedonia * Hungary On the 5 May 2006, in Vilamoura, Portugal, Austria was given the hosting rights for the first time ever. They were the first country since 1998 to host the tournament despite never qualifying on merit. Venues 5 Austrian cities have been selected to host the 2010 Championship. SPC Vojvodina ( sr-cyr, СПЦ Војводина), short for Sports and Business Center Vojvodina (), commonly referred to as SPENS ( sr-cyr, СПЕНС), is a multi-purpose venue located in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia.
