2012 European Curling Championships – Women's Tournament
The women's tournament of the 2012 European Curling Championships was held at the Löfbergs Lila Arena and the Karlstad Curling Club in Karlstad, Sweden from December 7 to 15. The winners of the Group C tournament in Erzurum, Turkey moved on to the Group B tournament. The top seven women's teams at the 2012 European Curling Championships, Russia, Scotland, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy and Germany, will represent their respective nations at the 2013 World Women's Curling Championship in Riga, Latvia. In the Group A competitions, Sweden, Scotland, and Russia finished at the top of the round robin standings with two losses apiece. Denmark defeated Switzerland in a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs. The page playoffs saw defending champions Scotland rout Sweden and Russia edge past Denmark. Helle Simonsen (curler)
Helle Simonsen (born 7 September 1984 in Hvidovre) is a Danish curler. Career In 2001, she represented Denmark for the first time, playing third for Denise Dupont. The team qualified for the 2001 World Junior Curling Championships, where they finished 9th. They did not manage to qualify again until the 2004 World Junior Curling Championships, when Simonsen played second for the rink (now skipped by Madeleine Dupont. Denmark finished 6th. That same year, they represented Denmark at the 2004 Ford World Women's Curling Championship where they placed 8th and the 2004 European Curling Championships where they placed 8th as well. Anna Kubešková (born 30 October 1989) is a Czech curler from Prague. She currently skips the Czech national women's curling team. Career Kubešková represented the Czech Republic at four World Junior Curling Championships (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011) and at the 2011 Winter Universiade. In women's play, Kubešková first represented her country at the 2010 European Curling Championships, where she led her country to a 12–1 record in the "B" Pool. Lene Nielsen (born 31 August 1986 in Hvidovre) is a Danish curler. She was the skip of the 2014 Danish Olympic Curling Team. Career Nielsen played in her first international events in 2004, as an alternate for the Madeleine Dupont rink. Even though she was an alternate, she played many games. At the 2004 World Junior Curling Championships, the team finished 6th and at the 2004 Ford World Women's Curling Championship they finished in 8th. They finished in 8th place at the 2004 European Curling Championships. Later that season, Nielsen was promoted to third on the team and they won a silver medal at the 2005 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival. She then played second on the team at the 2005 World Junior Curling Championships, where the rink finished 4th. At the 2005 World Women's Curling Championship, the rink finished in 10th. Margaretha Sigfridsson
Margaretha Sigfridsson (born 28 January 1976) is a Swedish curler who in 2009 was inducted into the Swedish Curling Hall of Fame. Curling career Early career Sigfridsson skipped the Swedish team at the 1997 World Junior Curling Championships, winning the silver medal. Sweden lost in the final game 11–3 to Scotland, skipped by Julia Ewart. Sigfridsson was the Swedish skip at the 2002 Ford World Women's Curling Championship. World Curling Federation
World Curling, formerly the World Curling Federation (WCF) is the world governing body for curling accreditation, with offices in Perth, Scotland.
