2012–13 European Challenge Cup
The 2012–13 Amlin Challenge Cup was the 17th season of the European Challenge Cup, Europe's second-tier club rugby union competition. A total of 23 teams participated — 20 in the pool stage, plus three teams parachuting into the knockout stages from the Heineken Cup. The original 20 teams represented six countries. The pool stage began in Mont-de-Marsan on 11 October 2012, with Stade Montois hosting Gloucester. It ended on 19 January 2013 when Stade Français hosted competition newcomers London Welsh, followed by the knockout stages culminating in the final at the RDS Arena in Dublin on 17 May 2013. The defending Challenge Cup champions, France's Biarritz Olympique, did not initially have a chance to defend their crown because they earned an automatic berth in the Heineken Cup. Sporting Union Agen Lot-et-Garonne (), commonly referred to as SU Agen, Agen () or SUALG, is a French professional rugby union club based in Agen, Lot-et-Garonne that competes in the Pro D2, France's second division of rugby. Aviron Bayonnais (AB, ), commonly called Bayonne, is a French rugby union club from Bayonne (''Baiona'' in Basque) in Pyrénées-Atlantiques which competes in the Top 14, the top tier of the National Rugby League (France), French league system. Wasps Rugby Football Club was a professional rugby union team. They last played in Premiership Rugby, the top division of English rugby, until being suspended on 12 October 2022. On 17 October 2022, the club entered administration, resulting in relegation from the league and all staff being made redundant. They exited administration on 16 December 2022. 2011–12 División De Honor De Rugby
The 2011–12 División de Honor was the 45th season of the top flight of the Spanish domestic rugby union competitions since 1953. It began in autumn 2011 and finished on May 12 with the Final. Valladolid won the title, while Alcobendas were relegated to División de Honor B. Competition format The season took place between September and March, with every team playing each other home and away for a total of 18 matches. Points were awarded according to the following: * 4 points for a win * 2 points for a draw * 1 bonus point for a team scoring 4 tries or more in a match * 1 bonus point for a team that loses a match by 7 points or fewer The six teams with the highest number of points at the end of 22 rounds of matches played the championship playoffs. Gernika Rugby Taldea is a Basque rugby team based in Gernika, Bizkaia which play in the Spanish League. The team was set up by some rugby supporters of the unfortunately bombed village, and is enjoying a steady rise in popularity in the region. For the 2012–13 season, Gernika took part in the European Challenge Cup.
