2012–13 BIBL Season
In the fifth season of the Balkan International Basketball League, twelve participants from the Republic of Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Israel, Croatia and the new represented country Greece has competed. Teams Format First round In the first round the teams were divided into two groups, each containing five teams. Each team played every other team in its group at home and away. The three teams that finished at the top of their group advanced to second round (or Group C). The teams that finished fourth and fifth in their group advanced to another group (or Group D). The opening game has been played on October 16, 2012 and the last match day was played on January 15, 2013. Second round The six teams, qualified for group C, kept the results between them from the first stage and played with the three teams from the other group home and away games. Opportunity League
The Prva A liga, for sponsorships reasons named the Erste Liga, is the top-tier professional basketball league in Montenegro. It is the highest basketball division organized by the Basketball Association of Montenegro (KSCG). It was established in 2006. shortly after Montenegro declared its independence from Serbia and Montenegro. The league is sponsored by and named after Erste Bank. Currently, two clubs from the area are playing in the regional ABA League. The Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL), also known as the Balkan League and as the Delasport BIBL Balkan League for sponsorship reasons, is a multinational professional basketball league featuring clubs primarily from the Balkans. The league includes teams from countries such as Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Cyprus, and Israel. The most recent league champion is Sigal Prishtina from Kosovo. The purpose of the Balkan International Basketball League is to provide competitive international play for clubs in the Balkans that might otherwise be unable to participate in international basketball. Arena Samokov
Arena Samokov () is a multifunctional Indoor arena located in Samokov, Bulgaria. The arena finished construction in 2007 and opened on March 8, 2008. It has a seating capacity of 2,000 people, expandable to 2,300, and a VIP area with a capacity for 46 people. BC Rilski Sportist of the NBL play their home games in the arena.
