2011–12 Yale Bulldogs Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Yale Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Yale University during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by 13th year head coach James Jones, played their home games at John J. Lee Amphitheater of the Payne Whitney Gymnasium and are members of the Ivy League. They finished the season 19–10, 9–5 in Ivy League play to finish in fourth place. They were invited to the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to Fairfield. James Jones (basketball, Born 1964)
James Fitzgerald Jones (born February 20, 1964) is an American men's college basketball coach who is the head coach at Yale University. Born in Long Island, Jones played college basketball at SUNY Albany and worked as a sales executive for NCR Corporation before beginning his coaching career. Jones succeeded Dick Kuchen as the 22nd men's basketball head coach of Yale University on April 27, 1999. On March 17, 2016, Jones and the Bulldogs upset the fifth-seeded Baylor University Bears in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. M&T Bank Arena, previously known as TD Bank Sports Center and People's United Center, is a multi-purpose arena in Hamden, Connecticut. Its design is unusual in that it consists of two separate playing and seating areas, one intended for basketball and one intended for ice hockey, joined together within a common facility. It seats 3,570 for basketball and 3,386 for hockey. Officially, the hockey side is known as the Frank Perrotti, Jr. Arena at the People's United Center. The 2011–12 Quinnipiac Bobcats men's basketball team represented Quinnipiac University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bobcats, led by head coach Tom Moore, played their home games at TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Connecticut, as members of the Northeast Conference. Quinnipiac finished 5th during the regular season, and advanced to the 2nd round of the NEC tournament, where they were defeated by Long Island. Uncasville, Connecticut
Uncasville is an area in the town of Montville, Connecticut, United States. It is a village in southeastern Montville, at the mouth of the Oxoboxo River where it flows into the Thames River. The name is now applied more generally to all of the east end of Montville, which is the area served by the Uncasville ZIP Code. In 1994, the federal government officially recognized the Mohegan Indian Tribe of Connecticut, which had historically occupied this area as part of its traditional territory.
