2011–12 Northwestern Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Northwestern Wildcats men's basketball team represented Northwestern University in the 2011–12 college basketball season. This was head coach Bill Carmody's twelfth season at the Northwestern. The Wildcats were members of the Big Ten Conference and played their home games at Welsh-Ryan Arena. They finished the season with 19–14 overall, 8–10 in Big Ten play, finished in a tie with Iowa in 7th place. The team concluded the postseason for the 2012 Big Ten Conference men's basketball tournament, where they were defeated by Minnesota in the first round. Bill Carmody
William D. Carmody (born December 4, 1951) is an American retired men's college basketball coach, formerly the head coach at the Holy Cross Crusaders men's basketball, College of the Holy Cross. He was the head coach of the Northwestern Wildcats, Wildcats men's basketball team at Northwestern University from 2000 through 2013. From 1996 through 2000, Carmody was the head coach at Princeton University. Early life and education Carmody was born in Rahway, New Jersey, and grew up in Spring Lake, New Jersey, Spring Lake, where he attended St. Rose High School, a Roman Catholic private school, in nearby Belmar, New Jersey, Belmar. He attended and graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 1975. Benet Academy
Benet Academy ( ) is a private, highly competitive, co-educational, college-preparatory, Benedictine high school in Lisle, Illinois, United States, overseen by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet in Illinois, Diocese of Joliet. Founded in 1886, the school was initially established in Chicago as the all-boys St. Procopius College and Academy by Benedictine monks, who also operated the St. Joseph Bohemian Orphanage. In 1898, the orphanage moved to Lisle, about west of Chicago, to be joined by St. Procopius three years later. In 1926, Benedictine nuns constructed the all-girls Sacred Heart Academy near the orphanage and school in Lisle. Tre Demps
Delano Jerome "Tre" Demps III (born May 21, 1993) is a former American professional basketball player and current basketball analyst. He played college basketball at Northwestern. Early life and high school Demps was born in Portland, Oregon to Serene Wilson and Dell Demps. He grew up in the East Bay Area of California, but moved frequently during his childhood. Reggie Christian Hearn (born August 14, 1991) is an American former professional basketball player and current scout for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Northwestern Wildcats. High school Hearn was an undersized post player while at R. Lansing Catholic High School
Lansing Catholic High School is a private school, private, Roman Catholic high school in Lansing, Michigan. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lansing.
