2011–12 Illinois Fighting Illini Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team represented the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Bruce Weber's ninth and final season at Illinois. The Illini played their home games at Assembly Hall and were members of the Big Ten Conference. Pre-season Departures 2011–12 incoming team members Prior to the 2011–12 season, Illinois welcomed seven new players into the program. Bruce Weber (basketball)
Bruce Brett Weber (born October 19, 1956) is an American former men's basketball coach who was most recently the head coach at Kansas State University. Prior to his tenure at Kansas State, Weber was the head coach at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Southern Illinois University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Illinois. Weber won conference championships and conference coach of the year awards at each of the three schools where he served as head coach. Riverton, Illinois
Riverton is a village in Sangamon County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,455 at the 2010 census, up from 3,062 in 2000. It is part of the Springfield, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Riverton was founded by John Taylor in 1837. Bradley Braves Men's Basketball
The Bradley Braves men's basketball team represents Bradley University, located in Peoria, Illinois, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. They compete as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. The Braves are currently coached by Brian Wardle and play their home games at Carver Arena. Bradley has appeared in nine NCAA Tournaments, including two Final Fours and national championship games in 1950 and 1954. Lee High School (Huntsville, Alabama)
Lee High School is a four-year public high school that serves students in grades 9–12 from Huntsville, in Madison County, Alabama in the United States, as a part of Huntsville City Schools. History Lee High School was named for the Lee Highway (U.S. Route 72) that ran in front of the old school location in the 1950s, which, in turn, was named after Confederate and Union General Robert E. Lee. The school's mascot is now a 5-Star General and, for many years, a painting of General Robert E. Lee mounted on his horse and holding the Confederate flag was on the Gymnasium wall. Rezin Orr Academy High School is a public four-year high school bordered between the neighborhoods of West Garfield and Humboldt Park located on the West Side of Chicago, Illinois. It is a part of the Chicago Public Schools district and is managed by the Academy for Urban School Leadership. The school is named after labor leader Rezin Orr. Myke Henry
Mycheal Gerome Henry (born December 23, 1992) is an American professional basketball player who last played for NLEX Road Warriors of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He played college basketball for Illinois and DePaul University. College career Henry began his college career at University of Illinois where he was recruited by Bruce Weber. After his freshman year Weber was fired, and new head coach John Groce used Henry sparingly as a sophomore which contributed to his decision to transfer to DePaul. Nnanna Egwu (born October 22, 1992) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Earthfriends Tokyo Z of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini. Egwu holds the career record for blocks at Illinois, finishing with 201. Huntington Prep or Huntington Expression Prep is a basketball-focused college preparatory school located in Huntington, West Virginia. Huntington Prep was originally unrelated to the public Huntington High School located in the same city, though now Huntington Prep players go to school at Huntington High after Huntington Prep's host relationship with St. Joseph Central Catholic High School ended in 2020.
