2011–12 Ergotelis F.C. Season
The 2011–12 season was Ergotelis F.C., Ergotelis' 82nd season in existence, 7th season in the Super League Greece, and the sixth consecutive since the club's latest promotion from the Football League (Greece), Football League. Ergotelis also participated in the Greek cup, entering the competition in the Fourth Round. Despite the season taking off on a promising start, subsequent weak performances and a disastrous championship second round saw the team finish in 14th place, thus being relegated to the Football League (Greece), Football League for the second time in its history. A few months later, iconic club president Apostolos Papoutsakis died at the age of 60. Ergotelis Football Club () is a Greek professional Association football, football club based in Heraklion, Crete, which competes in the Heraklion Football Clubs Association, FCA Heraklion A1, the fourth tier of the Greek football league system, and hosts its home games at the Pankritio Stadium. Grigoris Athanasiou (; born 9 March 1984) is a professional Association football, footballer who plays as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. He is left-handed. Career Born in Eleftherio-Kordelio, Athanasiou began playing football with Akratitos F.C., Akratitos in Superleague Greece. Lefteris Gialousis (; born 18 July 1985) is a Greek football defender who plays for Greek club Almyros Gazi in the Heraklion FCA A1 Championship, a regional league in the fifth tier of the Greek football league system. Professional career Gialousis began his career playing with local Heraklion side Irodotos, in the Gamma and Delta Ethniki. After three-and-a-half seasons with Irodotos, the more prominent Heraklion clubs had taken notice of his performances, and during the winter transfer window of the 2006–07 season Gialousis signed with Greek Super League club Ergotelis. Manolis Tzanakakis
Manolis Tzanakakis (; born 30 April 1992) is a Greek professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Super League 2 club Kalamata. Career Tzanakakis started his football career at the infrastructure segments of Heraklion-based Superleague side Ergotelis, and signed his first professional contract with the club on 29 November 2011. Georgios Sarris (; born 8 September 1989) is a Greek professional footballer who plays as a centre-back. Career Ergotelis Sarris began his football career at the infrastructure segments of his local club Ergotelis. He signed his first professional contract with the club in 2009. At the age of 19, Sarris made two league appearances in his first season and one appearance in the 2009–10 season.
