2011–12 Ball State Cardinals Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Ball State Cardinals men's basketball team represent Ball State University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team is coached by Billy Taylor (basketball), Billy Taylor and play their homes game in John E. Worthen Arena. They are a member of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 15–15, 6–10 in MAC play to finish in fourth place in the West Division. They lost in the first round of the MAC Tournament to Western Michigan. Billy Taylor (basketball)
Billy Taylor (born June 12, 1973) is an American college basketball coach. He is the current head coach for the Elon Phoenix men's basketball team. Taylor previously served as the head men's basketball coach at Lehigh University from 2002 to 2007 and Ball State University from 2007 to 2013. Playing career Taylor was an honor roll student and commencement speaker at West Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois. He was recruited by Digger Phelps to play at the University of Notre Dame, though he played under John MacLeod (basketball), John MacLeod. Coaching career After spending three years working for Arthur Andersen and earning his Certified Public Accountant, CPA, Taylor took an assistant coaching position under MacLeod at Notre Dame in 1998. Martin is a city in Weakley County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 10,825 according to the 2020 census. The city is the home of the University of Tennessee at Martin. Savage Arena
Savage Arena (formerly John F. Savage Hall and Centennial Hall) is a multi-purpose arena located in Toledo, Ohio, on the campus of the University of Toledo. The arena opened in 1976 and originally seated 9,000 for basketball and up to 10,000 for concerts. As part of a $30 million renovation and addition to the arena, completed in 2008, the seating capacity was reduced to 7,300 for basketball and up to 8,300 for concerts. 2011–12 Toledo Rockets Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Toledo Rockets men's basketball team represented the University of Toledo during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rockets, led by second year head coach Tod Kowalczyk, played their home games at Savage Arena and are members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 19–17, 7–9 in MAC play to finish in second place in the West Division. They lost in the quarterfinals of the MAC tournament to Ohio. Ellis Johnson Arena
Ellis T. Johnson Arena is a 6,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Morehead, Kentucky, United States. Located in the Academic-Athletic Center on the campus of Morehead State University, it is the home to the Morehead State Eagles men's and women's basketball teams along with women's volleyball. Construction began in 1978, and the building opened in 1981. The Eagles won their inaugural game in the building on December 3, 1981, over the University of Charleston. Johnson Arena can be easily transformed into an auditorium for concerts and commencements. At the east end of the playing floor, a hydraulic stage can be raised for events.
