2011 European Curling Championships – Men's Tournament
The men's tournament of the 2011 European Curling Championships took place in Moscow, Russia from December 2 to 10. The winners of the Group C tournament in Tarnby, Denmark, Poland and Lithuania, moved on to the Group B tournament. The top seven men's teams at the 2011 European Curling Championships, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Germany, Scotland, and France, will join hosts Switzerland in representing their respective nations at the 2012 Capital One World Men's Curling Championship in Basel. Martin Snítil
Martin Snítil (born 20 November 1978) is a Czech curler. He currently plays second on a team skipped by his brother, Jiří. Snítil made his international curling debut at the 2003 European Curling Championships, having coached the Czech men's team the previous season. Martin played second on the Czech team, skipped by his brother Jiří, and they finished 15th. The team returned to the European Championships in 2006, this time with Martin playing third on the team. At the 2006 European Curling Championships, they finished 11th. The men's tournament of the 2012 European Curling Championships was held at the Löfbergs Lila Arena and the Karlstad Curling Club in Karlstad, Sweden from December 7 to 15. The winners of the Group C tournament in Erzurum, Turkey moved on to the Group B tournament. The top eight men's teams at the 2012 European Curling Championships, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Norway, Denmark, Russia, Switzerland, Scotland, and Finland, represented their respective nations at the 2013 World Men's Curling Championship in Victoria, British Columbia. In the Group A competitions, Sweden remained relatively dominant, finishing with only one loss and qualifying for the playoffs, and the Czech Republic, Norway, and Denmark followed. Tårnby
Tårnby () is a town in Denmark, the seat of Tårnby Municipality in the Capital Region of Denmark. It is located approximately south of central Copenhagen on the island of Amager. 2011 Ford World Men's Curling Championship
The 2011 World Men's Curling Championship (branded as Ford World Men's Curling Championship 2011 presented by Richardson for sponsorship reasons) was held at the Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada from April 2–10, 2011. In the final, Jeff Stoughton skipped the Canadian rink to a 6–5 victory over Scotland's Tom Brewster, who was playing in his first World Championship. Scotland took the early lead, going up 3–1 after four ends, thanks to successful double and triple take outs. Stoughton picked out a Scottish stone in the four-foot in the fifth end to score three, and take a 4–3 lead into the break. Rasmus Stjerne
Rasmus Stjerne Hansen (born 26 May 1988 in Hvidovre) is a Danish curler. He is a former world junior champion and world men's silver medalist. He curls out of the Hvidovre Curling Club. Career Stjerne participated in six World Junior Championships. He played as third for Kenneth Jørgensen in 2004 and 2005, finishing outside of the playoffs in both years. He then skipped his own team at the World Juniors in 2006, 2007, and 2008, finishing fifth, fourth, and seventh, respectively. Then, in the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships, Stjerne and his team made the playoffs as the second-ranked team. Jiří Snítil (born 24 February 1975) is a curler from the Czech Republic. He currently skips the Czech Republic national team. He started curling at the age of 21. Snítil has represented the Czech Republic in seven World Curling Championships (2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015). His best placing so far at a world championship was 7th in 2014. World Curling, formerly the World Curling Federation (WCF) is the world governing body for curling accreditation, with offices in Perth, Scotland. 2012 Capital One World Men's Curling Championship
The 2012 World Curling Championships, World Men's Curling Championship was held from March 31 to April 8, 2012 at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland. The 2012 World Men's Championship was one of the curling events that is a qualifier for the Curling at the 2014 Winter Olympics, curling tournament at the 2014 Winter Olympics. In the final, Canada's Glenn Howard defeated Scotland's Tom Brewster after making a draw to score the winning point, wrapping up the game with a score of 8–7. Canada won its third consecutive gold medal and thirty-fourth overall gold medal.
