2011–12 Texas Southern Tigers Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Texas Southern Tigers basketball team represented Texas Southern University during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers, led by fourth year head coach Tony Harvey, played their home games at the Health and Physical Education Arena as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Tigers finished the season 15–18 overall and 12–6 in SWAC conference play. They lost in the final of the 2012 SWAC men's basketball tournament 71–69 to Mississippi Valley State. Tony Harvey (basketball)
Tony Harvey is an American basketball coach who was most recently an assistant coach for the DePaul Blue Demons men's basketball team. He served as the head coach of the Texas Southern Tigers from 2008 to 2012. Early life Born in South Bend, Indiana, Harvey was raised in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1983. He attended Louisiana Tech University for one year before he earned an associate degree from the North Dakota State College of Science, where he also played on the basketball team. Harvey completed the final two years of his college career at Cameron University, where he was an all-conference player and graduated in 1988. The 2011–12 Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team represented Michigan State University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. 2011–12 Eastern Michigan Eagles Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Eastern Michigan Eagles men's basketball team represented Eastern Michigan University during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Eagles, led by first year head coach Rob Murphy, played their home games at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center and were members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 14–18, 9–7 in MAC play to finish in first place in the West Division. It was the Eagles first MAC West title. Ferrell Center
The Paul J. Meyer Arena, which is part of the Ferrell Center, is an arena in Waco, Texas. Built in 1988 and located adjacent to the Brazos River, it is home to the Baylor University Bears volleyball, acrobatics, and tumbling teams. It is named for Charles R. Ferrell, a Baylor student and legacy who died in 1967, and whose family's estate was a major benefactor of the arena. The building replaced the Heart O' Texas Coliseum as the school's primary indoor athletic facility. The men's and women's basketball teams relocated to the newly-constructed Foster Pavilion in 2024. 2011–12 Baylor Bears Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Baylor Bears basketball team represented Baylor University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team finished 30–7 overall and 12–6 in Big 12 Conference play to finish in a third-place tie with Iowa State. In postseason play, Baylor lost to Missouri in the 2012 Big 12 men's basketball tournament championship game and Kentucky in the Elite Eight of the 2012 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Preseason From August 12 to 15, the Baylor Bears participated in the Canadian Foreign Tour which began their preseason, going 3-1 during the tour. Madarious Jaquil Gibbs (born May 7, 1993) is an American basketball player who last played for the Nha Trang Dolphins of the Vietnam Basketball Association (VBA). He played college basketball for Texas Southern Tigers. Gibbs, a point guard from Newnan, Georgia, played four seasons for TSU, leading the team to back-to-back Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) titles in 2014 and 2015. As a senior in the 2014–15 season, Gibbs was named SWAC Player of the Year and an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press.
