2010–11 West Ham United F.C. Season
The 2010–11 season was West Ham United's sixth consecutive season in the Premier League. After finishing in 17th place in the previous season, the team finished 20th and was relegated to the Football League Championship. Season summary The club appointed Avram Grant as their new manager on 3 June 2010, following the sacking of Gianfranco Zola at the end of a disappointing 2009–10 season. On 15 May 2011, West Ham were relegated to the Championship after a comeback from Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium. With West Ham leading 2–0 at half-time by two Demba Ba goals, Wigan battled back to win 3–2 thanks to an added-time strike from Charles N'Zogbia. Following the loss, West Ham announced the sacking of manager Avram Grant just one season into his tenure. James Oliver Charles Tomkins (born 29 March 1989) is an English former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He represented England at all levels up to the under-21 team and represented Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics. He is a product of the West Ham youth academy. Danny Gabbidon
Daniel Leon Gabbidon (born 8 August 1979) is a Welsh former professional footballer who played as a defender. He played for West Bromwich Albion, Cardiff City (two spells), West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers, Crystal Palace, and Panteg. He also played for the Wales national team. Winston Wiremu Reid (born 3 July 1988) is a New Zealand former footballer. He is most known for his time as a defender with club West Ham United and captaining the New Zealand national team. Robert Green
Robert Paul Green (born 18 January 1980) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He played in the Premier League and Football League and for the England national team. Green made his first-team debut for Norwich City in 1999 and totalled 241 appearances across all competitions for them, making the PFA Team of the Year when they won the First Division in 2003–04. Dismissal (colloquially called firing or sacking) is the termination of employment by an employer against the will of the employee. Charles N'Zogbia (born 28 May 1986) is a French former professional footballer who played as a right or left winger, but also as an attacking midfielder. He was capped for the France under-21 team on thirteen occasions, and made his debut for the senior side in 2010. The Brick Community Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Robin Park in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. It is used by Wigan Warriors rugby league club and Wigan Athletic F.C., Wigan Athletic association football, football club. The 2011–12 Football League Championship (known as the npower Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the eighth season of the league under its current title and nineteenth season under its current league division format. Reading secured the Championship title on 21 April, following second-placed Southampton's 2–1 defeat to Middlesbrough. The result left Southampton four points behind Reading with only one game remaining.
