2010–11 UNLV Runnin' Rebels Basketball Team
The 2010–11 UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team represented the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The team was coached by Lon Kruger, returning for his seventh year with the Runnin' Rebels. They played their home games at the Thomas & Mack Center on UNLV's main campus in Paradise, Nevada and are a member of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 24–9, 11–5 in Mountain West play and lost in the semifinals of the 2011 Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournament to San Diego State. They received an at-large bid in the 2011 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament where they lost in the second round to Illinois. Lon Kruger
Lonnie Duane Kruger (born August 19, 1952) is an American former college and professional basketball coach (sport), coach who was most recently the men's basketball head coach of the University of Oklahoma. Kruger played college basketball for Kansas State University. He has served as the head coach of the University of Texas–Pan American, Kansas State, the University of Florida, the University of Illinois, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as well as the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Kruger was the first coach to lead five programs to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament (he has since been joined by Tubby Smith, Rick Pitino and Steve Alford). Derrick Lamar Jasper (born April 13, 1988) is an American former basketball player from San Luis Obispo, California. He was listed as a point guard, but was considered versatile enough to also play the shooting guard and small forward positions. Jasper was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2007. Mojave High School
Mojave High School, is a nine-month public high school that is part of Clark County School District located in North Las Vegas, Nevada. After a year of sharing a campus at Cheyenne High School on a "double session" schedule where Cheyenne students attended from 6 am to 12 pm and Mojave students attended 1 pm to 7 pm (while Mojave was under construction), the inaugural class, class of 2000, were the only class to not have an upper-class.
