2010–11 UCF Knights Men's Basketball Team
The 2010–11 UCF Knights UCF Knights men's basketball, men's basketball team was an NCAA Division I college basketball team that represented the University of Central Florida and competed in Conference USA. They played their home games at UCF Arena in Orlando, Florida and were led by first year head coach Donnie Jones (basketball), Donnie Jones. Following a 10–0 start to the season, in which they defeated #18 Florida, South Florida, and Miami, the Knights were nationally ranked for the first time in program history. At the time, UCF was one of only four schools to be ranked in the BCS standings and the AP Poll#College basketball, AP men's basketball poll. Donnie Jones (basketball)
Donald Isaac Jones Sr. (born July 7, 1966) is an American college basketball coach and former college basketball player. He is currently the men's head basketball coach at Stetson University. For the 2023-24 season, Jones led Stetson University to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. Prior to Stetson, Jones served as the head coach of the UCF Knights men's basketball team from 2010 to 2016 and at Marshall from 2007 to 2010. After spending three years as head coach at Marshall, amassing a 55–41 record, Jones was hired by UCF after the university decided not to retain Kirk Speraw for the 2010–11 season. Before Marshall, Jones was an assistant with the Florida Gators for 11 seasons, and was hired by Marshall after he helped Billy Donovan coach the Gators to consecutive national championships in 2006 and 2007. Keith Clanton (born August 18, 1990) is an American professional basketball player. Standing at , he plays at the power forward and the center positions. After playing four years of college basketball at the University of Central Florida, with the UCF Knights, Clanton entered the 2013 NBA draft, but was not selected in the draft's two rounds. Isaiah Sykes
Isaiah Sykes (born December 2, 1991) is an American former basketball player. He played college basketball for the UCF Knights men's basketball team where he was named to the 2013 Conference USA First Team. He scored a career-high 36 points in a double overtime victory over Temple in the opening round of the 2014 AAC tournament. High school career Sykes played high school basketball representing Edwin C. Denby High School (Detroit, Michigan). Playing for head coach Chuck Albright, Sykes averaged 19.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists throughout his senior year. After leading the school to the Michigan Class A state semi-finals, he was selected to play in the Michigan High School All-Star Game in which he scored 17 points.
