The 2010–11 season was the eighth in the history of the Scarlets regional rugby union team. Nigel Davies (rugby Union)
Nigel Gareth Davies (born 29 March 1965) is a former Wales national rugby union team, Wales international rugby union player, who played his club rugby at Llanelli RFC. His son Sam Davies (rugby union), Sam Davies is a professional rugby union player. Davies was born in Waun y Clun, Trimsaran and as a youth player played for local rugby union club Trimsaran RFC. In his final year of playing for the youth team he was invited by Llanelli RFC to play for them in a friendly match, from which he impressed enough to be selected by the club. Davies played 498 games for Llanelli including nine WRU Challenge Cup finals. During his Llanelli career he scored 115 tries and 487 points in total. Nigel also scored 5 tries whilst playing centre for Wales in 29 appearances. Davies was appointed assistant coach to the Wales national team under Gareth Jenkins and was appointed caretaker Head Coach following the departure of Jenkins after the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Damien Welch
Damian Welch (born 28 July 1982 in Reading, Berkshire, Reading) is a former Welsh Rugby Union player who played at Lock (rugby union), lock. He represented Wales at Rugby sevens, Sevens in the 2008–2009 season. Club career Welch played for Westwood Wanderers until the age of 16. After beginning his rugby career at Cardiff University he then went to represent Pontypridd RFC, Cross Keys RFC, Merthyr RFC Cardiff and Cardiff Blues and the Scarlets. Andrew Fenby
Andrew Mark Fenby (born 24 October 1985) is a Welsh former rugby union footballer who played as a fullback or on the wing. Fenby's professional career started relatively late, as he earned his first professional contract with Newcastle Falcons at the age of 24. After a brief cameo for the Falcons at the end of the 2008–09 season, he returned to Wales to sign for the Scarlets. The emergence of fellow wing George North on the international scene gave Fenby the opportunity to play regularly for the Scarlets during the Autumn internationals and the Six Nations, before he finally nailed down the left wing position during the 2012–13 season. A record of 14 tries in 28 appearances that season resulted in a transfer to London Irish in 2013. After initially retiring from professional rugby at the end of the 2015–16 season, he briefly returned to the sport in October 2016, signing a three-month contract with Saracens. Aironi
Aironi Rugby (, "herons") was an Italian professional rugby union team competing in the Pro12 and the Heineken Cup, representing the Italian regions of Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna. It lost its status as a regional side at the end of the 2011–12 season, as the Italian Rugby Federation revoked its licence for financial reasons. They were replaced by Zebre from the 2012–13 season. Home ground The team played in Viadana at Stadio Luigi Zaffanella. It was expected that Reggio Emilia's Stadio Giglio would be used for larger games but no games required its near 30,000 capacity. Stephen Jones (rugby Union)
Stephen Michael Jones (born 8 December 1977) is a Welsh rugby union coach and former player who played primarily at Rugby union positions#Fly-half, fly-half. He played more than 100 times for Wales national rugby union team, Wales and six times for the British & Irish Lions. Jones was the List of rugby union test caps leaders, record cap holder for Wales until he was overtaken by Gethin Jenkins on 15 March 2014. With 970 international points, Jones is eighth in the List of leading rugby union test point scorers, and the second-highest Wales player on the list behind Neil Jenkins. At the end of the 2012–13 season, Jones retired from playing professional rugby to take up a coaching position at Wasps RFC, London Wasps and in August 2015 he joined the Scarlets as backs coach. Sean Lamont
Sean Lamont (born 15 January 1981) is a Scottish former international rugby union player and now Strength and Conditioning Coach. He played at centre and on the wing. He gained 105 caps for Scotland before retiring from international rugby in 2017. Rugby Union career Amateur career Lamont was born on 15 January 1981 in Perth, Scotland. Connacht Rugby is one of the four professional provincial men's rugby union, rugby teams from the island of Ireland. George North
George Philip North (born 13 April 1992) is a professional rugby union player who plays as a centre for Pro D2 club Provence Rugby. Born in England, he grew up in Wales and represented Wales at international level between 2010 and 2024, as well as the British and Irish Lions on two tours, and is one of the most accomplished players of his generation. He began his professional career with the Scarlets before moving to England to play with the Northampton Saints. Notably, he made Welsh rugby history by being the youngest player to score a try on debut at the age of 18. Iestyn Thomas
Iestyn Thomas (born 15 December 1976) is a former Wales international rugby union player. In April 2012, he retired from rugby due to injury. Club career A prop forward, Thomas started his rugby career with home-town club Pontypool RFC, but later moved to the top division with Ebbw Vale RFC.
